Europe will just have to wait to track this treasure.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker has been delayed to January 2015 in Europe, Nintendo confirmed today.

They confirmed this news via their financial report, which also came out today.

The game originally had a Winter 2014 release date in the region before being delayed. That is still the release date for North America and Japan as of this writing.

Talkback

If this happens in other territories, it'll make 2014 the first year since 2008 that didn't have some sort of Mario-universe platforming game release. Maybe this is a good thing.

I just hope this doesn't mean EAD Tokyo got called in to finish Smash WiiU off like Retro did with a certain 3DS racing game (even if it is their third best game ever behind the two DKCRs).

It's probably a better idea to release this game early 2015 so it gets more attention and sales.  Right now, Smash Bros and Mario Party 10 will easily overshadow it among Wii U owners this Fall.  Even though Toad is Mario related, it's still not a Mario game.  NSMB sells around 30 million on the DS, while Super Princess Peach only does around 1 million at best, and SPP was another 2D platformer.  Caption Toad on the other hand isn't even a platformer, and Toad is a less popular character then Peach.

what good reason do they have to delay it? If it has any text its probably a few paragraphs at most for training, the graphics engine should be just an enchanced version of the mario 3D world graphics engine which was finished last year

Aren't Yoshi's New Island and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze technically Mario-universe platformers? I'm also not sure if this game counts as a platformer since Toad can't jump.
