Nintendo is hosting regional and worldwide tournaments in Mario Golf: World tour, starting May 22.

The tournament is in collaboration with golf gear manufacturer Callaway, and participants will receive in-game, stat-enhancing Callaway Golf items, such as clubs and balls. Aside from the Callaway tournaments, custom-made tournaments can also be created by players. All tournament winners will be awarded in-game coins that can be used to purchase more gear from Toad's Shop.

The tournaments will offer a good assortment, from larger competitions to challenges such as longest-drive, speed golf, or coin-gathering. They can be accessed in Mario Golf mode or using the entry machines in the Castle Club. SpotPass notifications will be available to check for upcoming and available tournaments. From there, players can play an event, and upload their score. Leaderboards will also be available to monitor progression.

A demo for Mario Golf: World Tour will launch on the Nintendo 3DS eShop on April 24 before releasing on May 2 in the U.S. and will be priced at $29.99. This gives a full few weeks to get in practice. Good luck!
