S.H. Figuarts tackles the portly plumber! (Coming soon to Mariobilia, of course!)

Bandai's S.H.Figuarts line of poseable action figures has adopted Nintendo's mascot character into its ranks.

Toted as the world's first full action figure of Super Mario, the Figuarts toy looks like it comes with an incredible amount of articulation on his limbs and torso. As with most of these style of toys, clear plastic stands will allow you to position Mario in all manner of impossible mid-air poses.

What sets this figure apart, however, is that two additional diorama play sets will be sold alongside the main figure, allowing you to piece together scenes from Mario's world. The first set contains a green grassy stand, two Brick Blocks, a Question Block, a Coin, and a Goomba, while the second set includes the grassy base, two different heights of Warp Pipes, a Coin, a Goomba, a Koopa shell, and some alternate hand pieces to allow Mario to hold the shell.

Two diorama sets have been confirmed so far.

No official pricing for the figure or diorama sets has yet been announced, but they are scheduled for release in Japan in May. It's not yet known if this figure will make its way out of Japan, but given that all the promotional material is written entirely in English, future international distribution seems plausible.

I really hope it comes to the States! My son needs these toys. Of coarse he'll want his dad to play too.
