One of the greatest SNES games is making its way to a GamePad near you.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is hitting the European eShop on the Wii U this Thursday.

Highly regarded as one of the best titles in the series, A Link to the Past introduced many elements that have come to define the series.

The game will cost €7.99 or £5.49, and there is currently no word yet on a North American release date.

Hopefully NA will get it Thursday. I own this game in the wii mode of my Wii U, but since I don't have a classic controller (I couldn't justify buying 4 pro controllers and 4 classic controllers so I just bought 4 pro controllers) so I'm excited to pay my $1.50 and transfer it out of Wii mode.

I believe we are getting Double Dragon on Thursday. :(

Hey, we can get more than one game a week can't we? .. can't we?

I'm in the same boat as Leo. I bought it when it was 100 coins for Club Nintendo members and didn't realize I needed a classic controller to play it (I sold mine long ago). So it's just sitting in my Wii mode doing nothing right now. Time to transfer it out.

Hopefully it's released in Australia soon too! I'll love to play it on the game pad. I guess technically I could already... If I was to balance the pad at a close enough distance and use a classic controller. How annoying. Anyway, good news.

Just sunk my teeth into 60 hours of Wind Waker HD, playing it strictly on the gamepad and thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm now onto A Link Between Worlds and loving every second.

First time poster by the way - long time follower of the site. G'day all.

I'll happily pay the upgrade fee to have Gamepad functionality without having to use a Wii remote with pro controller attachment.
