Add enough money to your North America Wii U eShop account by July 28 and receive $5 or $10 eShop credit.

Monday Nintendo distributed a Wii U promotional newsletter that advertised up to a $10 eShop credit for Wii U owners that add enough funds to their Wii U eShop account before the deadline.

Details of the promotion are explained on the Club Nintendo website. Wii U owners that add between $50.00 and $99.99 in funds before the deadline will receive a promotional code via email worth $5.00 eShop credit. Those who add $100.00 or more will receive a $10 credit. This offer is valid in the United States and Canada and, according to the fine print, the code can only be redeemed on Wii U.

This promotion is valid now through July 28 at 11:59 p.m. PST.

So if you give Nintendo $100 right now to pad their financial reports, they'll give you $10 in Wii U eShop credit interest sometime after August 2nd.  Nah...that's way too high a cost for way too little a reward.  Nintendo doesn't even have $100 in exclusive Wii U eShop games I want to purchase over the next 3 months.  Still, if downloading games is your thing & you only own a Wii U, I can see the appeal.

Meh. Too little. I usually buy retail. A $5 drop isn't enough for me to change that.

Hu, yea I'll do it.  I'll easily spend $100 on the eshop before too long.  I might as well take the free $10.  I see what they are up to but it would be silly not to take advantage.  My money won't get that much interest sitting in my bank account.

If you're already planning on throwing down $60 to download Pikmin 3, might as well do it now and add the other $35-$40 and get the extra 10%

Nice! I've pretty much decided I'll be downloading Pikmin 3, so this is a nice incentive to just add the funds now.

Ah, looking forward to all the Wii U gaming to be had.  :)

Oh, my.  So if I take my boyfriend's 10% Target discount on eShop cards, add the 5% from the Target Red Card, then consider a ten dollar credit, plus nearly another ten from the Digital Deluxe Promotion... *schemes*

I Spend $100 at Best Buy on eShop Cards I get 4% back for using my Best Buy Credit Card ($4)
I then get $10 email from Nintendo
I also get $10 from the Deluxe Digital Promotion
Escentially $124 worth of goods for $100 that's great
I get to download Wonderful 101 AND Rayman Legends for little less money and I was going to download them anyway.
Win-Win for me!!!

By the way, thanks NWR staff for the heads up!

Hopefully Nintendo will keep doing things like this
(sorry I would have just hit edit instead of 3 posts, but I can't find how to edit)

Don't forget those that have deluxe systems get 10% back after making $50 in purchases, so for your $100 deposit, after spending it, you will have almost $120 worth in value (depending on your tax rate). I'm doing this.
