Your father is dead. As the new Prime Minister of Japan, it's your job to avenge him, Mecha style.

Level-5 International America's Black Box series will see it's first release, Liberation Maiden, hit the eShop on October 25.

Liberation Maiden is one of four games belonging to a 3DS retail release in Japan known as Guild 01. Players take control of Shoko Ozora as she mans her Liberator, known in the game as Kamui. After the assassination of her father, the Prime Minister of Japan, she leads the fight against foreign invaders who vie for control of the country's power supply. The game plays out as a third-person shooter, as you take to the skies and blast your way to victory. You can read Danny Bivens impressions of Liberation Maiden here (it's referred to as Kaihō Shōjo, its Japanese title).

The remaining titles of Level-5's Black Box, Crimson Shroud and Aero Porter, are yet to be dated, but are scheduled to arrive before the end of the year.

Talkback

I dunno, Metal Wolf Chaos seemed way cooler.

Game looks awesome! So glad we're getting it!

It's not great but it's playable. Expect some cramping from slidepad + L + stylus controls and AFAIK there's zero southpaw support.
