What's got bogies, Barney, and bots? Why, this week's Nintendo Downloads, of course!

Golf doesn't begin and end with Mr. Tiger Woods. If the world was just, Mario Golf for the Game Boy Color would be all there was. Fortunately, it's available today on the eShop, so you can see what all the fuss is about. But that's not all, Robot Rescue 2 aims to break your brain a second time, and Crazy Kangaroo has you jump your way to safety. SNK's support for the Wii Virtual Console lives on, in the form of The Last Blade 2. Lastly, get your demo on with  LEGO The Lord of the Rings for the 3DS! Can you guess what these titles have in common? They're all video games!

3DS eShop Games:

Crazy Kangaroo  - $3.99
From a top-down view, steer Barney the Kangaroo through a variety of hazards, always ensuring a safe landing for our marsupial friend. Collect stars and avoid those out to make you lunch, either with the Circle Pad or motion controls.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings - Demo

Hey, guys! Remember The Lord of the Rings? It's back! In demo form! Middle Earth is looking a lot cuter in this LEGO-fied telling of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. Take Frodo to Mount Doom in this open-world adventure. Mega Bloks fans need not apply.

3DS Virtual Console:

Mario Golf (Game Boy Color) - $4.99
Back in the day, Camelot sure knew how to meld sports and role-playing into one tasty treat, and no example is finer than Mario Golf. Play well, level-up, then play even better. It's a great gameplay loop, creating a terrific game of golf.

Wii Virtual Console:

The Last Blade 2 - 900 Points

This past June, when you were neck deep in the original Last Blade, did you think, "Dude, this game could really use aerial repels, aerial guards, and knockdown recovery! Then it would be suh-weet." Let me introduce you to The Last Blade 2, my friend. With a roster of 16 characters, there's no end to the chopping you could do. Both this and the original are regarded as two of the best fighters SNK has produced.

DSiWare Games:

Robot Rescue 2  - $1.99
Time to don that thinking cap again, as Robot Rescue 2 isn't for those with a screw loose. Guiding a multitude of robots isn't tough, until you throw a wrench into the mix and realize all 'bots are controlled at the same time. Move left, they all follow suit. Better plan ahead.

Nurikabe by Nikoli - $4.99

Nikoli brings yet another logic puzzle collection to the eShop. Can you fill in the right boxes to separate the play field into the right sized chunks? Give this game a whirl.

Talkback

I've bought a majority of these Nikoli logic puzzle games (6 of the 8 so far) and I think this one, Nurikabe, is my new favorite.
