Nano Assault is getting a re-release on the eShop.

Nano Assault EX will be coming to both the North American and European eShop, according to Shin'en via Twitter.

Based on the original Nano Assault, Nano Assault EX will feature new game modes as well as new options. Shin'en has confirmed that the game will support the Circle Pad Pro accessory. Check out our review of the original Nano Assault while waiting in anticipation for this new title.

I think those of us who own the retail version should get the new game modes as free DLC. Just saying.

Agreed. Give retail owners an update or DLC with everything in EX. Please?

Whatever gets this European-made game into Europe, I suppose. Nano Assault always seemed like a cool twist on the usual scrolling shooter mould.

Great game that I had go out of my way to find and purchase. It was difficult to find and it was not cheap.
I agree the DLC should be free for cartridge holders. I wish I could just get the full game as a download now (for free or nominal cost) as it would be a good one to have always available on the system.

The problem with the whole "free DLC" idea, though, is that the developers probably have no way of confirming that you bought the original game unless it came with a Club Nintendo registration code.

EDIT: Hmm...glancing over the list of eligible 3DS games on the Club Nintendo website, it does look like Nano Assault was a Club Nintendo game.  Well, if Nintendo was willing to release that information to the developers, I could get behind the whole "reward" aspect for owners of the original retail title (but just as a "nice gesture".  They don't owe you anything).

I know, right? I've been waiting for this game for months ever since I heard it being discussed on RFN.

i am sure they can get nintendo to go through the activity logs or release a patch.

but holdup...
as far as i am aware this is the first non demo eshop game to get cpp support

When playing the original I made the comment that it really could have used CPP support. Add that, put some online leaderboards in there and stick it on the eShop and you've got a fantastic package. I'll definitely be picking this up when it comes out.
