Natsume is bringing two of their most popular series to the 3DS Virtual Console.

Harvest Moon GBC and Legend of the River King GBC are headed to the 3DS Virtual Console. The two Game Boy Color titles are a part of a new push by Natsume to be more active in digital distribution across all platforms.

Like The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, Harvest Moon GBC and Legend of the River King GBC are both re-releases of original Game Boy titles that take advantage the Game Boy Color's full color screen. Harvest Moon GBC is a color remake of the second game in the popular farming simulation series, while River King GBC is the Game Boy Color version of the first game in the fishing series to be released outside of Japan.

There is currently no information regarding the games' release dates.

I'm happy to hear news of any 3DS virtual console releases. These are both games I will actually consider buying too.

I think the 3DS VC would actually be the perfect place for a Harvest Moon.  I've never played one but as far as I know it would be the perfect "down time" kind of game.

Nice to see the eShop continue to flourish.

How do these games hold up? I do enjoy the series but i wonder if time is not fair to these games

I remember River King, I never played it but I kept thinking I should get that.  It looked neat at the time.  Guess the VC will finally make that purchase happen!

The Harvest Moon for GBC isn't that good, but I'm hoping this lays the groundwork for the release of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, my personal favorite in the series, once they get around to putting GBA games on there.

Like Kwolf, I remember always being somewhat interested in Legend of the River King back in the day but never picked it up, so I'll probably check it out now.

As a young'in I didn't branch out to franchises I hadn't really heard much about, so I am eager to try these games out.
