Nintendo Silently Updates eShop Titles

Downloadable 3DS game updates are available now.

Updates to a number of eShop titles are now available. It is not clear what has been changed, so the updates are likely bug fixes.

Updates to a number of 3DS Download titles including 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure, Pushmo, Freakyforms, and Netflix are now available on the eShop. Several Virtual Console titles have also been updated, including Super Mario Land 1 and 2, Kirby's Dream Land, and Link's Awakening DX.

Oddly, going into Updates under Settings in the eShop yields the message, "There are no updates available for any of your titles." However, an update button appears next to each relevant title under the Your Downloads section of the eShop. Updates can be downloaded immediately or queued like any other downloadable title.

Thanks to Eddie for the news tip!

Annoyingly, I found out that you need double the space to be able to queue all the updates at once. My SD card was nearly full, and so I ended up having to download each one individually because Nintendo's system apparently doesn't know how to deal with temp space properly. Time to get a new memory card.

Couldn't you have deleted the titles and then queued them up for download?  I suppose that wouldn't really be much easier though...

I'm not sure if I should update Netflix or not. I got all excited over the Wii update, hoping it'd be faster and easier, though now it seems like a huge downgrade.
I'm glad I decided to buy a larger memory card now.

Make a full backup of your SD card, and then if you don't like the update you can just roll back.

For what it's worth, I had Netflix stop responding several times before the update, forcing a hard reboot of my 3DS to get any response. The update hasn't visibly changed anything on my 3DS (nothing like the Wii update that you mentioned, which was a notable downgrade) so I'm hoping they were able to fix whatever was causing those issues in the portable version.

Love that I can just queue them!  ;D

I concur about how horrible the wii Netflix update is. I used to tell people that the interface of Netflix Wii was way better than any other Netflix-capable device, but now...

I'm curious - I don't use Netflix, but if you still have a disc, can you use it to access the service, or does it require that you download the channel now?

I've tried using the Netflix disc before, and it gives you a message that the disc version is no longer in use, and tells you to download the new version from the Wii Shop Channel.

Pokédex 3D has an update now.

Yeah, I downloaded the Pokedex one a few days ago, though I have no idea what it does (it would be nice if they said what the updates did).
