The update for QR Code support is live!

The update that enables QR Code support for Hiku Osu (Pushmo in North America) is now live on the Japan eShop. Using the QR Codes, players have the ability to share created puzzles with their friends. Downloading the update is simple. If you own Hiku Osu, simply go to the eShop. Before the main page opens, you are informed about the update and then given the option to update or to decline. Starting Hiku Osu following the update, the players’ save data and progress are transferred seamlessly into the updated version of the game.

The creation aspect of Hiku Osu remains almost exactly the same, except now there is an option to use the 3DS camera to take a picture of a QR code or export to your Nintendo 3DS photo album. After you creating a level which you can complete, you are then given the option to make a QR code for your creation. This prevents unsolvable puzzles from being distributed over the Internet.

If you own the game, feel free to use the QR Code from a stage created by our Europe Correspondent, Daan Koopman or my poorly constructed (and simple) NWR Japan themed puzzle.

Hiku Osu is set to be released outside of Japan this December and is likely to contain QR support in the final product.
