Do you prefer your dolls made up as Miis or do you prefer one little one?
We've got another half-century opening on the eShop this week, headlined by your choice of a new Capcom (who have been, quite frankly, carrying the Switch 2 this year) property with Pragmata, or a rare first party Switch OG title in the form of viral purpose to have the Switch app on a smartphone... The second most important thing Game Freak's involved with today.
A new trio of NES and Famicom games has been added to the Nintendo Classics library tonight, all from regular Nintendo development partners.
The Tower of Druaga (1985 - Famicom) is the home console version of the original arcade game, designed initially as "fantasy Pac-Man" by Namco and is often credited...

Perhaps to make sure Bond isn't ordering a weak drink and being snooty about it.
The Switch 2 version of the latest 007 game needs a bit more time in Q's lab.
007: First Light, originally due for launch on May 27 along Steam / PS5 / Xbox Series versions, has been delayed to "later this summer" on Switch 2. IO Interactive announced the delay on their social media but no specific reason was given.

A bit of an odd way to get back to the US$500 bundle option.
The Mario Galaxy movie is serving as a reason to offer a purchase incentive for its games.
Nintendo has announced a new deal today offering US$20 or C$30 off a purchase of a Switch 2 and the Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 release. Both physical copies and digital codes (via card) will be eligible for the discount, with choices based on the retailer: the deal will run from April 9 (Canada) / April 12 (US) to May 6 / 9.

Not going to prevent a Switch 2 price increase, but maybe it won't be as bad.
Much like the games, the second Super Mario animated movie both didn't hit the heights of the original and yet still made boatloads of cash.
Estimates have the Illumination / Nintendo co-production making US$130.9m in its opening weekend, and $190m US over the five days since its April 1st launch. International take - notably not including Japan, where the film's release is tied to the Golden Week holidays - was approximately US$182.5m.

There's a three headed dragon meme with the abilities of the Z-A starters. "It's always sunny!" "Slash is a Dragon move!" "Uh, Mold Breaker?"
Get your Incineroar and Amoongus ready because we're going to be dealing with the Society of Battle Connoisseurs this week with the release of Pokemon Champions, a game that might qualify me for my first Worlds in 2027 (assuming the tourney isn't in gestures wildly since I won't be able to enter the... Someone set up us the bomb. Ten times over.
Mario Kart World has snuck an additional update in before the end of the fiscal year with a new battle mode and other changes.

Probably more notable for what goes away tomorrow, apart from the Switch 2's immunity to price increases.
Some things of note today on the second-to-last day of the quarter and Nintendo's fiscal year: The Resident Evil Generation Pack (RE7 Gold, 8, and 9 for $100 US or equivalent) will no longer be sold digitally after tomorrow, and GameChat will move from being available for all to requiring a Nintendo Switch Online sub. It's the official recommendation of this column to remap the C buttom to a second capture or home button.

Featuring the return of the Chernobyl to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Three Mile Island AND The Talking Flower, so this week is just cursed.
It's a week of pain on the Switch 2 as apart from the traditional way too expensive horse game in Japan, we have the Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder which cursed us with the Talking Flower, as well as a S2E for Tales of the Shire. Which was last seen on Switch probably proving it shouldn't... Read more...

Just use the Master Ball on the Lugia, it's painful enough trying to catch six Shadow Pokemon when three of them are legendaries.

The Switch version of Like a Goodra can murder your battery like the Switch 2 edition does.

Remember: If you're facing Miguel Rojas and the count goes full, for the love of Arceus throw a fastball.
Although some of you might have already grabbed it by way of premium editions, opening day for MLB The Show is Tuesday coinciding with the World Baseball Classic finals, which sadly does not contain Canada or the Dominican Republic. I still enjoy this job even after 11 years, which is much more than I can say for my offline job.
On this week which marks the start of my 11th year writing news for Nintendo World Report, the Switch 2 is certainly bringing the big guns with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection (Neal's review), the remake of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, and the opposite of heat, WWE 2k26. I'm actually... Read more...
