The first 3D movie trailer is available on the 3DS.

A Green Lantern movie trailer was added to the 3DS eShop at some point today. The movie is due out in theaters on June 17.

The trailer was recently featured before 3D movies in theaters, and is now available for 3D viewing via the eShop. At nearly three minutes long, it is the longest video available in the eShop.

Unlike 3DS games, the video can only be displayed in one form of 3D. All the depth slider does is turn it on or off.

The RE:Revelations video only had one level of 3D as well. Anyways after looking at the trailer, I'm not interested in the movie (not that I was in the first place).

I think it's a great trailer and looks pretty good in 3D. I have been looking for green lantern trailers and this is a NEW one so that's pretty cool.

For these videos they need a "Watch now" button to play it as it streams. All this *poke* *poke* *poke* *wait* *wait* *wait* just to watch a trailer for a crappy SFX movie is so tedious these days.

How spoiled am I?

I would agree with that.  Honestly, having to download the video, which you'll probably only watch once, takes up menu space and memory card space.  Seems silly to me.

At least "Stream" it in such a way that it downloads the video, plays it, then deletes it once you exit.

I am curious though - will these movie trailers and E3 trailers be subject to deletion upon future firmware upgrades as well?

The important distinction between the Green Lantern trailer and the White Knuckles video is that one of them appeared with an update on your home screen, and the other one was something you chose to download from the eShop.  While I would expect that the video will vanish from the eShop after a month or so, I don't expect will vanish from your system any time soon.

All 3D trailers only have one level of depth, not just the Lantern trailer.

I think TurdFurgy may be right, though I wonder:  do 3D movies in general (besides those on 3DS) have more than one level?  Is there a technical reason for this?

Movies are pre-rendered so the depth levels are set. Games are rendered real time so the GPU handles the levels of depth in real time.

Strangely, this got an update.
