Activision introduces the next multi-platform Call of Duty game to the Wii, including two player co-op and unspecified online play.
Call of Duty: World at War will take players into the series' untouched South Pacific theatre, with additional missions in Europe. As U.S. Marines and Russian soldiers, players will utilize features like cooperative gameplay and new weapons such as the flamethrower. The Wii version will receive a "unique co-op mode for two players" although it won't have the online co-op capabilities of the other versions.

The popular educational card game is being transformed into two DS titles each with over 6,000 questions with a focus on students in grades three through six.
Last week, EA announced a partnership with Workman Publishing Company to bring the popular Brain Quest quiz card game to the Nintendo DS. The agreement focuses on two unique titles directed at two different grade levels similar to the actual Brain Quest games.

Lawsuit against Nintendo for use of the song "You're so Cool" in a three-year old commercial lasts less than a week before being voluntarily dropped.
On June 12, 2008 Morgan Creek announced a lawsuit against Nintendo for using the song You're so Cool from their film True Romance in a GameCube game ad. America gets a new Nintendo WiiWare title and the second iteration of Fatal Fury on the Neo-Geo for the Virtual Console.
This week on the Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo brings another WiiWare title, Magnetica Twist, a port of the classic puzzler. The Neo-Geo has also received another entry with a sequel to the already released Fatal Fury. Additionally, more downloadable content has been made available for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, the WiiWare launch title from Square-Enix.

Prince of Persia: The Fallen King will feature stylus control and an all new character: the "Magus."
Ubisoft recently announced that their Casablanca studio is working on a DS exclusive Prince of Persia game. Titled Prince of Persia: The Fallen King, the game will expand the Prince of Persia saga and will accompany the console and PC Prince of Persia game coming out this holiday season.

Though announced last September by Famitsu Weekly, SNK Playmore confirms that the DS title is headed to America.
SNK Playmore and Ignition Entertainment announced today that the latest iteration of the Metal Slug series will also be receiving an American release. Between Metal Slug Anthology on Wii and this DS title, Nintendo is the only company to have full representation of the series on its platforms.

The video game based off of the upcoming Disney/Pixar film is now out for the DS and Wii.
THQ announced that their latest game for the DS and Wii, WALL-E, is now in stores. The game is based off of the highly anticipated Disney/Pixar film of the same name and is developed by Heavy Iron Studios. It follows the storyline of the movie and also adds in additional content that will not be seen in theatres. It will also include voice work from the film's stars and the work of the acclaimed sound designer Ben Burtt.

Developers of Luminous Arc and World Destruction help fill RPG void in the Wii's library
Yet again Famitsu Weekly has revealed a new title in development for a Nintendo system. Marvelous is bringing Wii owners a traditional RPG from Image Epoch, Arc Rise Fantasia.
Arc Rise Fantasia will feature a graphical style similar to that found in tri-Ace games. The title will also feature a widescreen option for 16:9 users to take advantage of.

The announcement of a new DS game called Moe Star: Moeru Todai Eigo Juku (meaning Tokyo University English Cram School) comes with a unique motivational twist for students to buy and use the software. The developers are offering 500,000 Yen (about $4,700 in US currency) towards tuition fees for students who attend certain Moesta events and pass a series of tests.

2K Sports' latest iteration of the popular tennis series is now available in stores for both Wii and DS.
2K Sports announced this past Tuesday the arrival of Top Spin 3 in retail outlets across America. Players will be able to take control of the Wii game through use of the Wii Remote's motion control, as well as the Nunchuk for movement.
Top Spin 3 for the Wii won't feature online connectivity, but it will include its Create-a-Player mode, allowing players to customize their on screen avatar and in play style.

Unlike the North American version, which will be distributed through Nintendo's WiiWare service, World of Goo is set to be published by RTL Playtainment in Europe.
The recently published release list from Nintendo of Europe revealed that World of Goo, the upcoming WiiWare title in North America, will be launching later this year in Europe. The interesting tidbit of information revealed by the list was that the game is set to be published by RTL Playtainment, implying that it would be available at retail outlets as opposed to in digital form online.

Today, Aerosmith is appearing at the Hard Rock Café for a press conference and V.I.P. Launch Party for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
Aerosmith will debut the latest game in the burgeoning Guitar Hero franchise, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square today. The rock and roll themed restaurant will be "transformed into a Best Buy home theater/video game lounge" as Aerosmith will take part in a press conference to discuss their new game.

List of announced 2008 lineup composed almost exclusively of Wii and DS titles.
Majesco Inc. recently released financials for the second quarter of 2008. The report showed a slight slowing trend for sales and profit compared to the same quarter in 2007. However, the company's combined earnings for the first two quarters of 2008 are up from last year nearly 50%. Majesco Entertainment released six games this quarter, an overwhelming four were on the Nintendo DS system.

The Blue Bomber returns to his roots.
The latest issue of Nintendo Power has revealed that Mega Man is headed to WiiWare with a new iteration to the mainline series. It has been over eleven years since Mega Man 8 released on both the Sega Saturn and PlayStation, though the Blue Bomber and his accompanying characters have continued to stay relevant through a number of spin-off titles and re-releases.

The team is working to include Wii specific control schemes, strong graphics, and a compelling online experience to create "the best shooter on Wii."
In an interview with CVG, Treyarch, the developers of the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War, revealed a number of new details about the Wii version of the game. According to Treyarch, a special internal team of Wii experts have been assigned to the title and "live, eat and breathe Wii." Even at this point in development, Treyarch believes that Call of Duty: World at War "looks better than any Wii game on the market so far."
