Given the astonishing 2.04 million Wiis sold in November, many sales watchers were wondering if the Wii would break the PS2's record for units sold in the month of December: 2.7 million units sold in 2002. It didn't. However, the Nintendo DS did.

Nintendo is working with MENC: The National Association of Music Education to incorporate Wii Music into music curricula.

The goal of most videogames is abundantly clear: to be fun for those playing them. But Nintendo has lately been trying to redefine what videogames can achieve. In fact, the game maker is casting its recent Wii Music, which lets players virtually jam with over 60 instruments and a selection of musical based activities, as not just a fun gaming experience, but also a valuable tool for music education.

Capcom's Japanese fighting game Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes is powered by hardware that bears a striking resemblance to the innards of the Wii.

Photos taken by The Stinger Report reveal that the motherboard inside Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is stamped with Nintendo's name. In addition, the hardware that runs Capcom's fighter lacks an Ethernet adapter and has a WiFi device just like the Wii. Already released in Japan, the latest in Sega's Phantasy Star series will grace DS systems worldwide later this year.

Sega announced today that the latest in their Phantasy Star series will see a worldwide release this fall. Released in Japan just three weeks ago, Phantasy Star Zero features action RPG gameplay along with in-depth online play featuring touch screen-based visual chat through the Nintendo WiFi Connection.

Nintendo collaborates with popular Japanese blog site to link with popular DSiWare app.

Nintendo announced via a Famitsu article that they have signed a deal with popular online social network and blogging site Hatena to allow functionality with DSi software.

Users of the 'Ugoku Memo Chou' (Moving Notepad) software on the DSi, will be able to upload their drawings and animations to Hatena servers, where user creations can be viewed and rated online.

Nintendo-published titles rank second in maintaining their price as used games, and several even sell for more than their MSRP.

According to a recent analysis of the second-hand game market, Nintendo-published titles retain their value longer than those of any other publisher save Bethesda.

The ratings group has just given ratings for two WiiWare games and two Virtual Console titles from the Super Nintendo library.

A number of new ratings appeared on the ESRB web site today for both WiiWare and the Virtual Console.

After a month of silence on the project, developer Nicalis has updated their development blog with information for the upcoming WiiWare title.

The acclaimed independent game Cave Story is in fact still coming to WiiWare later this year. The game may have missed a Christmas release date, but Nicalis has confirmed that "Cave Story for Wii hasn't been killed" and that they are taking the extra time to "make sure everything is perfect."

The new product lineup includes the Charging Station EX, Kama Charge Kit, and a competitor to Nintendo's own Wii Remote, the Wand.

Yesterday, Nyko officially debuted their new Wii devices at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Along with previously announced peripherals such as the Charge Station Quad and the Metal Pedal, The Wand, Charging Station EX, and The Kama Charge Kit were on display for the first time ever.

UPDATE: Atari released a press release today that confirms the Wii and DS version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game for June 16 in North America and June 19 worldwide.

According to MCVUK, Atari has confirmed that Ghostbusters: The Video Game will release on June 19. Meanwhile, the press release for the Ghostbusters 25th anniversary DVD states that Ghostbusters: The Video Game will coincide with the DVD's availability and release "worldwide the week of June 16, 2009." Presumably this news includes the Wii and DS versions of the game, but no specific platforms were named.

CEO and Lead Designer believe that ports, and publishers who had "written off" the Wii, are to blame for the lackluster performance of "hardcore" games on Nintendo's console.

MTV wasted no time in challenging High Voltage Software CEO Kerry Ganofsky and Lead Designer Rob Nicholls to prove why they should expect good things from their upcoming Wii first-person shooter The Conduit.

Developers like 2D Boy, creators of World of Goo, have demonstrated that small independent studios can accomplish amazing things on WiiWare. The latest independent team trying their hand at WiWare development is Semnat Studios, who on Monday announced their 2D shooter: Eduardo the Samurai Toaster.
