The outspoken creator of Dead or Alive and the 3D Ninja Gaiden games is back.

Tomonobu Itagaki, who created the Dead or Alive series and the 3D Ninja Gaiden titles while head of Team Ninja at Tecmo, is working on a new game for Valhalla Game Studios, according to Famitsu.

His team at Valhalla Game Studios, which was formed by former Tecmo employee Satoshi Kanematsu, is made up of other former Team Ninja employees, and their upcoming title is still unannounced. The platform for his game is currently unknown.

"There could [be] new hardware released in the future," he said on the subject. "Also, not just consoles - I am interested in PCs."

Itagaki left Tecmo shortly before the June 2008 release of Ninja Gaiden II over matters regarding a withheld bonus and "unreasonable and disingenuous statements" made by Tecmo's president in front of colleagues.

In a Famitsu interview, Itagaki commented on the upcoming title. "If you ask who I've been developing for, it's for Earthlings," he said about the game.
