The good professor sees a healthy debut in August.

According to the NPD Group, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box has sold 67,500 copies since its August 24 debut. The puzzle-solving franchise has seen a solid reception since the first title, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, debuted last year in North America.

The first game still has a presence across the sales charts, including North America and Europe, a likely benefit of a strong marketing push with ads featuring ex-"Friends" cast member Lisa Kudrow.

I would buy the game but I still have to finish the first one! Not sure what good new puzzles would do for me considering I haven't seen them all in the first game yet!

Would've been 67,501 copies if TRU would've had it in stock... ;

I've enjoyed the game thus far; I find the setting more interesting than the village in the first game.  Great stuff!

I hope the series keeps selling; I'd love to see the second trilogy and the movie make it's way here.

Yes, I would love the movie to make its way here. But considering that the Animal Crossing movie is still in Japan I doubt Layton is going to happen any day now :( .

Oh well, watch out for the subs of the DVD.

Level-5 owns the IP, not Nintendo, so that might help a little.
