The Library of Congress has inducted the first video game song into the National Recording Registry, and it was probably the most obvious selection.

The big show for the big N won't be straying too far from the North American headquarters.
Nintendo is about to bring one of their major live events in Japan to the West for the first time.
"Nintendo Live 2023 Seattle" will run in September in Seattle, though the official date and location will be announced later. Tournaments and other Switch games, live entertainment, and photo opportunities will be available.

How many commanding officers does one army need?
Nintendo has released a new trailer for their next first party release, with some new features being introduced.
The trailer for Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp was an overview of the game's modes beyond the two story paths of the GBA games. The "War Room" mode will allow for local play with up to four players (in a wireless mode) or two COs on the same system. A two-player online battle mode will be available as well.

We are but a couple of weeks away from a major blast of RPG nostalgia.
Square Enix released a new trailer for the console releases of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters a short time ago confirming the remakes of the first six Final Fantasy games would launch on Switch April 19. In an unusual move, they also specified the games would be available at 11 am ET / 8 am PT.

A brand new (old) Stadium is opening on Switch Online next week for Expansion Pack holders.
Pokemon Stadium (aka Pokemon Stadium 2 in Japan) will launch into the Expansion Pack N64 library on April 12, according to a new trailer released by Nintendo. The game will feature four-player battling options and minigames as well.

We can't call it NPD anymore, which is also why it's two weeks late.
Following a merger with fellow analytics firm IRI under the new "Citrana" banner, the monthly US sales survey for February showed Nintendo hanging in against strong competition.
All data based on dollar sales from January 29 - February 25 unless otherwise noted, Nintendo first-party digital sales are not included though other third parties can contribute at their discretion.

Another major industry player has pulled out of E3 2023 amid doubt the show will even occur.
In a statement to IGN, Sega have confirmed that they will not be attending the show planned for June 13 - 16 in Los Angeles. "After careful consideration, we have decided not to participate in E3 2023 as an exhibitor. We look forward to sharing more information on announced and unannounced projects in the future."

As promised yesterday, the gameplay video for Tears of the Kingdom aired this morning - and also announced some rumored hardware.
A Tears of the Kingdom-branded Switch OLED model, which has been rumored for several weeks, will be available on April 28 for US$359.99 or equivalent. A branded Pro Controller and Switch carrying case will be available on May 12 (the game's launch date), as announced at the end of the video.

This might be the first time in years Ubisoft senior management realized you can pull out.
Another major player in video games has reversed course and will not attend E3 2023.
Ubisoft, who previously had committed to having a booth on the floor for the relaunched show, have confirmed in a statement to Video Games Chronicle that they would be holding their own event in Los Angeles on June 12 called Ubisoft Forward Live in lieu of attending E3 from June 13 - 16.

The longest look at the gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will air tomorrow.
Nintendo have announced a 10 minute gameplay video for the May 12 release tomorrow; it will be live on the company YouTube account at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT / 1600 CET. The video will be presented by Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma.

The newest Fire Emblem's expansion pass is a brief engagement.
Nintendo have confirmed that the "Fell Xenologue" story expansion will launch on April 4 in North America and 5 April in Europe and Japan. The capper to the expansion pass for the January 20 release is a story similar to the Three Houses "Cindered Shadows" story.
