Left Field Productions is behind the crazy family-friendly poker game.

Left Field Productions, developers of the recent Wii game Nitrobike, announced that they are working on a new title for WiiWare called Battle Poker. The game is a variation on the popular card game and involves up to 4 players chaotically trying to get the best hand in a certain amount of time. It is controlled by the Wii Remote and uses its pointer functionality during gameplay. Left Field CEO, James Higgins, said that they were aiming to "create a fun game that could be played by the whole family - from the kids all the way through to the grandparents."

The game is nearing completion and should be coming to WiiWare sometime in the near future.

Ooo, another Left Field game for Nintendo. Not quite interested in Poker, but I think this should do alright.

Doomtown.

Left Field, a former 2nd Party, is making Battle Poker
N-Space is making a game with beanbags

Just think about that.

So when a king beats a queen he dances with her and then stabs her with her own knife?

After seeing their efforts on Nitro Bike, I doubt these guys are even capable of a basic Minesweeper clone.

But really, Poker with your Wii? o_O

That should not be nearly as funny as it is.  Good show.
