UBISOFT ANNOUNCES ASSASSIN'S CREED ALTAÏR'S CHRONICLES™ EXCLUSIVELY FOR NINTENDO DS™

SAN FRANCISCO - January 15, 2008 - Today Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, unveiled Assassin's Creed Altaïr's Chronicles™, exclusively for the Nintendo DS™. The Assassin's Creed Altaïr's Chronicles video game will be available at retailers nationwide in February.

Assassin's Creed Altaïr's Chronicles is the direct prequel of the critically acclaimed console title Assassin's Creed™, where players discover more about the protagonist Altaïr and his deep history. The game features a fully realized 3D world in which players will travel and battle through four cities of the Crusade's Middle East, using acrobatic moves and exhilarating combo attacks that mix sword skills and high-flying kicks.

"The success of Assassin's Creed worldwide has been incredible and we're excited to delve deeper into the story and bring it to the Nintendo DS," said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. "Assassin's Creed Altaïr's Chronicles will be a title that resonates with those who played the console version as well as those who have yet to discover the secrets of Assassin's Creed."

Assassin's Creed Altaïr's Chronicles is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $29.99. For more information, please visit www.assassinscreed.com.

Come on Ubisoft! Assasin's Creed for Wii!

I'm interested in this because Tenchu wasn't so great for the DS and niether was Phantom Hourglass, but I think that this will play like a mixture of the two (tho I've never played Assassin's Creed at all) games together, but I don't think it will be better than Ninja Gaiden, but I think it will help this type of action, adventure, stealth slasher platform pick up on the DS which I think is lacking seriously.

I'm up for it!

Yes we do need Assassin's Creed for the Wii, if I play this game and it's good, I'm going to want to play what would essential be the sequel for me which is only available on the competition's console. Nintendo still wins because this game should sell well, but it would be better for them to have the sequel on their home console too. Possibly with some interconnectivity like a new level or tournament or something for the DS version.

I wonder if it's possible to use the Wii (and it's (albeit limited) harddrive) to play DS games/new levels on the DS? Like the one gamepak multiplayer?
