There are only a few hours left to bid on this rare, autographed collectible! And it's all for charity.

Wouldn't you love to own this piece of gaming memorabilia?

Well, here's your chance: Bid on it now!

This awesome swag has sat on my bookshelf for three years, and I'll hate to see it go, but it's the best idea I could come up with to raise some money for Penny Arcade's fantastic charity, Child's Play. The item is registered through eBay's Giving Works service so that all proceeds will benefit Child's Play. That is to say, 100% of the final selling price will be donated directly to the charity. Please see the auction page for details on shipping costs and condition of the item. I would love for an NWR reader to win this amazing collectible, but it is bound to be a hotly contested item, so bid now and keep bidding!

I'd bid on this myself, but I never was a big Pikmin fan for some reason. Everyone who is should bid, though!

Well Pikmin 2 is one of my all time favorite games, it's signed by Miyamoto, a man I've contemplated creating a religion around, and it's to benefit a charity I've always meant to donate to but never actually gotten around to. I don't know how I'd be able to come up with the money for this but I'm going to have to try.

DjunknownNovember 30, 2007

Now THAT's how charity should be. I've seen other auctions that donate 10-20 percent to Child's Play. I'm a believer that if you're doing something for charity, you might as well give either a healthy chunk (35 percent minimum IMHO) or all of it. Don't make charity a profitable scheme.

Happy Bidding!

I am going to try my hardest to bid on this and make the price go up, just so Penny Arcade gets more money. Awesome Charity.

Well, I got the thing for free from Nintendo, so it makes no sense for me to profit from the auction by only donating part of the sale.

CalibanNovember 30, 2007

That is quite a sacrifice you made.
If I was living in the USA I would certainly bid at least $100 for it.

IceColdNovember 30, 2007

That's... so awesome.

I'm so bidding on this...at the end

It's gonna go $150+.

NWR staff are inflating the price with artificial bids, sho nuff.

PaleMike Gamin, Contributing EditorDecember 01, 2007

Totally isn't artificial. Jonny didn't say he was doing this and I totally want it.

Protip: Pale is broke, so you will outbid him soon enough.

You know, I really like Child's Play and want to support it and all that but should we really be auctioning off our own Reviews Editor?

I bit twenty cents.

Wait, what's the shipping? I bid twenty cents minus whatever the shipping is.

ArbokDecember 01, 2007

Uh oh, looks like GoldenPhoenix is moving in on it at around the $90 level...

Almost there....

It has broken the $200 mark now. :-) And still five days to go!

UncleBobRichard Cook, Guest ContributorDecember 02, 2007

Dang. Good donation!

I wonder...

TrueNerdDecember 03, 2007

It warms my heart that you'd be willing to give up something like that for charity.

So is anyone else going to bid on the Viewtiful Joe skateboard?
Because I'm winnign and I jsut realised I didn't have that much money in my PayPal face-icon-small-smile.gif

DAaaMan64December 06, 2007

Alright I am rather confused. I am trying to figure out PayPal. I have never used it before. If I somehow won the auction. How can I pay? Can I pay via a credit card form on PayPal? Or do I literally have to transfer funds from my bank account to PayPal? Cause that would be totally lame.

Hopefully I can get a quick answer, thank you!

PaleMike Gamin, Contributing EditorDecember 06, 2007

You can use your credit card, assuming there are no weird security issues...

And by that i mean with PayPal, and not with you, because it can be somewhat finicky.

DAaaMan64December 06, 2007

Thanks Pale. I'll see if I am interested in doing this...

ShyGuyDecember 07, 2007

this out of my price range now face-icon-small-frown.gif

NOW?!?!? This was out of my price range 2 days after being posted!!!

DAaaMan64December 07, 2007

somebody just sniped. this funny face-icon-small-smile.gif

DAaaMan64December 07, 2007

damn I tried to out bid that guy but couldn't. At Least I brought the donation up to $315 face-icon-small-smile.gif I am so proud.

I'm really happy with how the auction ended. I'll update the news article with the final bid once the winner confirms payment.

Crimm is not the winner.

UncleBobRichard Cook, Guest ContributorDecember 09, 2007

Aww... I take it no one from the boards won?

Well, anywhoo, great to see it reached more than twice the amount I threw out. I thought there was a chance it'd go $200, maybe $250. $300+ I never would have guessed...

Still, awesome. I wonder what the CP totals will be this year. CAG has been collecting for less than a day and already has almost $5,000. Should be a good year for Child's Play. face-icon-small-smile.gif
