Ganondorf, Sheik in Smash Bros. Brawl

Aonuma lets it slip that his team has been asked to create character designs for Sakurai.

It turns out the Smash Bros. Dojo isn't the only place where we can find out new details on everyone's most anticipated game. Game Informer Online's (and Nintendo World Report's founder) Billy Berghammer has learned from Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma that Sheik and Ganondorf will be playable characters in the upcoming Wii all-star fighter, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

When asked about whether or not Aonuma was consulted on the use of Zelda universe characters in Brawl, he told GI flat-out about the two callbacks from Melee. "Actually, my designers did work on the designs for Sheik and Link and Ganondorf," Aonuma told Berghammer. "So they submitted the initial designs, and so it would fit in the Smash Bros. Brawl environment, they’ve had to tweak some of the designs. But [Masahiro] Sakurai has brought those altered designs to NCL. We’re working very closely with the team of Smash Bros. Brawl to make sure the characters look their best."

This answers the questions of whether or not the two characters would be in the game. There's still the matter of whether or not Zelda and Sheik will still be the same character, however. Will they or won't they?

Mmm, a new take on Sheik.

As for Ganondorf, I hope we'll be able to use his awesome twin swords incarnation from Wind Waker. The Sage Sword from Twlight Princess is fine too. As for his Final Smash, though it maybe a bit safe and lame, I hope we'll finally be able to play as the big bad pig Ganon.

With Bowser's FSA as it is, I wouldn't be surprised if Ganondorf's was transformation as well.

I'm anticipating Galaxy more, actually.

What's with the spam? Anyways, I bet that Sheik will be by herself. Anyways, it was going to happen with Ganondorf, but Sheik?! Jeez... This game is gonna rock!!

I like how he never said they were playable characters...Ganondorf and Sheik both Assist Trophies confirmed! tpg.gif

God friggin damn it

FORGET ABOUT SHEIK

He was in ONE GAME, TEN YEARS AGO. WHY IS HE STILL IN THE SPOTLIGHT? THE POSTMAN IS MORE DESERVING.

Does anyone even like Sheik? Why? It's not even a character. This really bugs me, Nintendo shouldn't be listening to the fanboys. This is where the downfall BEGINS

Seriously, I mean did you hear that Pit was in? I mean, when was the last time he was in a game? Pretty lame IMO.

Because she was fun to play as in Melee as part of Zelda?

I felt that way about the Ice Climbers. At least Kid Icarus had a sequel.

Well, I might be alone, but I love the obscure one shots mixing it up with Nintendo's heavy hitters. Likewise, I would be sad if the Ice Climbers didn't make it into Brawl. Also, anyone featured in Melee, regardless of their past game history, I wouldn't consider obscure anymore on account of it.

The Ice Climbers might have been an oddity to most when Melee was released, but five years after I'd say a great deal of Nintendo fans are familiar with them now.

I think it's pretty obvious there's a new Kid Icarus game coming out

Perhaps, although, as stated in this thread with the Ice Climbers, it doesn't seem like a lock thing to happen either. Regardless of if there is a new game in the works or not, I'm happy to see Pit in the game myself.
