Inappropriate material found in the digital entertainment product.

Datel has posted a notice on their Codejunkies website notifying consumers of their Games 'n' Music media player for Nintendo DS that the product has been recalled. Unspecified material, which could be deemed inappropriate, was found embedded in the device by their quality assurance department after the device shipped.

Datel asks those who bought the product at Best Buy between January 1, 2007 and now to either send the product to Datel for a replacement or return it to Best Buy for a refund. The return address is:

Datel Design and Development, Inc.

15500 Lightwave Drive

Suite 101

Clearwater, FL 33760

Games 'n' Music is an unlicensed DS card with a Micro SD slot that allows playing of music, movies, and homebrewn games on the Nintendo DS. It includes 25 games, which were winners of a homebrewn DS game contest. Games 'n' Music also comes with a 128MB Micro SD card and video conversion software.

Datel is remanufacturing the device with the inappropriate material removed though they have not said when the fixed version will be available.

Well well.

I gotta know. Anyone have any clue as to what the material was?

Surely someone has already found out what it is. If not, this announcement will certainly make people poke around until someone does. face-icon-small-wink.gif

"inappropriate" wouldn't be enough for me to waste my time going to best buy or where ever to get my money back.....just delete the stupid file off the micro SD card. I don't see why someone would go to this extreme. The whole "defective" move is just to save their ass, I can't see anyone sending it back unless they are disapointed with it and want an easy way to get their money back

Man...how do you let this out of your factory? Then again, Apple shipped out a bunch of iPods with a virus on them...
