Iwata-san also has other interesting information in a new interview.
Japanese website TechOn! got a chance to interview Satoru Iwata, president of all things Nintendo. The chat gives a lot of insight into the development of the controller and Nintendo's thought process in justifying their new direction for the home console market. You really should read the whole thing when you get the chance. If you want to save yourself the mouse click, we've got the good stuff.
Iwata confirmed that Nintendo is planning to offer monthly DS promotional demos over the WiiConnect24 service, which can be transferred to the handheld from the Wii console. The neat thing about it, however, is that if a Wii owner opts to keep the console on and connected to the Internet at all times, the demos would download to the Wii automatically. A blinking LED light on the system would indicate that the demo is ready to be downloaded to the DS.
The subject of DS downloads through Wii has been all speculation up until this point, but it's great to see that Nintendo is actually planning for it. Maybe downloadable Wii demos are in the cards as well? Let's hope.
