Revolution FPS from Midway?

A new job listing suggests Midway is working on a first person shooter for all three next-generation platforms.

Midway has posted a new job listing for a Level Layout Designer on a "Next Generation First Person Shooter." While such a posting is usually unremarkable to the average gamer, this one holds a sliver of encouraging information. Midway lists Nintendo Revolution as a target platform for this Unreal 3 engine-based title.

Although Midway has continued to support Nintendo GameCube through its waning years with Rampage: Total Destruction and Midway Arcade Treasures 3, many of its multiplatform titles (such as Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks) were never released on Nintendo's console. While Midway's plans for this game could change, this posting shows that it is interested in seriously supporting the Revolution.

I thought you guys were gonna ignore this little tid bit of info even though it could eventually not lead to much.

Well, this isn't rumor, at least in the sense that Midway is admitting to something + Revolution, at least in the planning stages. We thought we'd run with it because Midway has an iffy relationship with Nintendo and this suggests good things.

Midway...without the arcade machines, I'm thinking they're not going to survive the next generation like they're old pals at Acclaim.

As far as the Rev news, I'm not sure if Midway has put anything good out lately. I can't think of a single title.

They need to just start fresh and stop milking their MK franchise dry.

In Midway's defense, MK did get a major makeover which broke the cycle of rehashing that was going on. Has Midway published/made an FPS before?

PLANT FOR MIDWAY SPOTTED!

(They published Doom 64 and they are publishing Unreal Tournament 2007 I think...)

Area 51 was supposed to be pretty good.

Area 51, I would still play that game from time to time if they hadn't replaced it with an arcade shooter that uses joysticks and buttons.
