Satoru Iwata says his company hopes to launch Revolution in multiple regions simultaneously.

GameSpot reports that in an interview with Nikkei Business, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata confirmed the Revolution launch will be sometime next fiscal year (starting in April). Iwata also says Nintendo wants to synchronize the regional launches "as much as possible."

Iwata also reiterated that Nintendo is not content with its diminishing home console marketshare, and will consider Revolution a complete failure if it does not sell more units during its lifetime than the Nintendo GameCube (18.76 million units shipped since June).

I still think Australia will get it last, but least Australia shouldn't get it too much later than other parts of the globe.

Are they going to release the Revolution in China?

KirbySStarOctober 26, 2005

That would make a lot of sense since a virtual system of sorts has seemed to work out pretty well over there already.

It would be pretty cool to have an official system over in China.

Also, <3 Ben's avatar so much.

Just like he hoped to launch around the same time as the competition, but we'll see what happens.

RABicleOctober 27, 2005

I'm putting $50 (AUS) on the table to bet that the Australian launch is at LEAST 6 months behind.

vuduOctober 27, 2005

I'll take that bet.

What's $50 (AUS)? Like $2.50 US, right?
