Our own man at the scene, Jonny Metts, relayed some thoughts on the Nintendo Press Conference via cell phone.
For those of you that haven't had a chance to watch the direct-feed of Nintendo's E3 Press Conference, our own Jonny Metts was there to pass along these thoughts:
Revolution
- No controller was shown.
- The early trailer of Metroid Prime 3 looked like it was thrown together quickly, more as a quick teaser as opposed to an indication of what the game will actually look like
on the new hardware.
- No game footage (beyond Metroid Prime 3) was shown.
- There's a door on the top of the console (when vertical) that opens to reveal ports for GameCube controllers and Memory Cards.
Game Boy Micro
- Jonny said that it was VERY tiny, even smaller than an iPod Mini.
Zelda
- When Link transforms into a wolf, a female character (the Twilight Princess?) hops on his back. You then control them both. The female character apparently looks like she's right out of Wind Waker, with a sort of "super-deformed" art style used for her character design.
- Similar to Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker, there are certain parts of the game where backgrounds turn to black and white while foreground characters remain in color, likely for dramatic effect.
