Pac-Man Pinball is No-Go for DS

Namco is shelving the project before ever revealing it to the public.

Recent online reports have indicated that Namco is in development with a new Pac-Man themed pinball game for the Nintendo DS. Today, a Namco rep confirmed to PGC that the game was in development, but that is no longer the case. The title has been canceled, apparently early in its development cycle, since no screenshots have yet been shown to the public.

Pac-Man Pinball DS was to be the sequel to Namco's recently released Pac-Man Pinball Advance for GBA. The formal title of the DS game, according to IGN DS DS, was Super Pac-Man Pinball.

Namco still has at least two more Pac-Man games in the works. Pac'N Roll is due out this summer for the Nintendo DS, and Pac-Man World 3 launches this fall on GameCube and other consoles.

That was quick. Actually, there are screens in the latest Nintendo Power (the one with Rayquaza on the cover)

As much as I've enjoyed Pac Pix I was really looking forward to seeing what Namco would do with Pinball on the DS.

Oh well, we've still got Pac N'Roll to look forward to.

The less pinball games the better. Pac Man and Pinball machines can stay in the 80s

Fully agree, Pinpall games aren't exactly the variety that tend to pile up in one's game collection either. In fact, I think I only have (or had, I should say) two of them since I started playing video games: Sonic Pinball and Pokémon Pinball.

Pinball sucks on a console/handheld... badly. Pinball should be played on a pinball machine, it's that simple. Pinball anywhere else is akin to playing Donkey Konga with a controller instead of the Bongos... It's just not as fun...

Not to mention that Pinball is really only worth the $1 it takes to put into the machine. Often I find I'm bored before I've even stopped playing.

I didnt even know there was one in the works...

What, no Epic Pinball?

What about Video Pinball for the Atari 2600? That was one of my favorite games.

Odama will destroy all Pinball Naysayers!

BTW, isn't there already a Pacman Pinball for the GBA?
