The two sides have apparently kissed and made up over the huge BMX XXX debacle.
In February of this year, BMX superstar Dave Mirra sued Acclaim over using his likeness to promote BMX XXX. It appears that the two sides have settled this "contract dispute," as you can see by reading this freshly released news flash from Acclaim.

We told you last week about the first alpha release of Warp Pipe, an application in development that aims to allow GameCube users to play each other online with LAN-enabled games. Now you can help test software that enables GameCube LAN titles to be played online.
The Warp Pipe Project has announced the alpha release of their online software for GameCube. The goal of the software is to enable online gameplay in GameCube titles which support the LAN feature. It currently only works with Kirby Air Ride, of course, but Warp Pipe hopes to have the software fully working by the time Mario Kart: Double Dash is released in North America.

Now they're one of the largest shareholders, but don't expect to see a buyout anytime soon.
Update: More information has surfaced about the deal. Apparently, Nintendo had got a pretty sizeable chunk of their newly acquired shares from Mattel, the toy company. Mattel had an agreement with Bandai in 1999, which was to end at the end of this year. As a result of this, Mattel decided to dump some Bandai stock, and Nintendo wound up nabbing it from them.

The creators of the Pokemon trading card game are suing Nintendo of America and Pokemon USA.
According to a weekend article in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Wizards of the Coast has filed a suit against Nintendo of America, Pokemon USA, The Pokemon Company, and two executives. Wizards created the Pokemon trading card game and oversaw the product for years until Pokemon USA recently absorbed those operations. Wizards of the Coast produces several other card games, including Magic: The Gathering.
