WarioWare: Touched!

by Jeff Shirley - May 12, 2004, 4:25 pm EDT

Wario Ware's insanity spreads onto the DS.

Wario Ware is the game I looked forward to most on the DS. The demo was very short, but all the same I now find myself anticipating Wario Ware even more than before.

All the microgames I played used the stylus for neat reasons. One of the games involved a horde of fruit and vegetables one the screen and you slicing the stuff in half with the stylus. Another had you scratching Wario's back with the stylus. And a rather difficult microgame had you drawing japanese calligraphy. The use of the stylus is simple, and yet interesting every new game.

The Graphics of the game is pretty much standard Wario Ware fare, with a little 3D mixed in. On the Top screen, Wario chucks "microgame" crates at you to signal a new game. None of the microgames I played had any 3D stuff so far, but I know some of them will. I am also unsure that ALL the microgames in the final will use the stylus. But I am without a doubt anticipating Wario Ware DS.
