Capcom to Announce Four New Games at Tokyo Game Show
« on: September 14, 2010, 01:57:26 PM »

A Twitter post reveals the company's plans for TGS.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/24031

In a Twitter post, Capcom Europe revealed that the company would be announcing four new titles at Tokyo Game Show later this week.

The tweet read: "Tokyo Game Show this week. If I had a guess at the Capcom announcements I'd guess at four new games announced and some new MvsC3 characters."

It doesn't specify what consoles the titles will be announced for, and it is unknown if Ace Attorney Investigations 2 will be one of the titles now that the game's existence is confirmed.

I second that notion and give it the atmosphere and graphics of REmake.

I don't believe you can do the visuals of the REmake with an RE4-style RE2 remake (man, that's a lot of "RE"s), because the REmake cheated a bit and used FMVs for many of its backgrounds.  What we would get in such a remake would look something similar to the RE2 sections of Darkside Chronicles or some of the better-looking sections of RE4.

I would be happy to see such a remake, though.  We know RE6 is coming because Capcom has said they want to accelerate the development of the series, but after RE5 it is kind of hard to care about installments later in the timeline.  I'd like to see some of the older games go RE4.

Zack and Wiki 2.  ;)

In all seriousness, hopefully at least one of these new announcements is for Nintendo platforms. It wouldn't be too far-fetched to hope for Mega Man X9, in the vein of the X games on the SNES, to come to the download services.

hmmm..no, I'm not feeling that one.  They're currently going to great lengths to hype this new NES-retro-oriented MegaMan Universe game, so it feels like a bit of a mixed message to simultaneously hype a SNES-style MegaMan X game.  We might see that game sometime in the near future, just not until after Universe has had some breathing room.

Good point. I'm just trying to think of what franchises Capcom would put on the Wii or DS. Their attitudes towards Resident Evil in the past have shown that they regard it as a high production value series, suggesting that the only RE game they would develop for Wii would be a spin-off and I doubt they have the appetite for that any more after the poor sales of Darkside Chronicles.

Maybe to build up hype for RE: Revelations, we'll get a 3-D version of the first RE game. :p

Or maybe we will get something Mega Man related, other than Universe. Legends or X perhaps?

And of course, I want to see a lot of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 stuff. =D

This is where I would write something witty or funny if I had any ideas.

It's CapCom, two of those games have to be either Mega Man and Resident Evil. Is the Battle Network series still going?

No, it ended in 2005. The most recent series has been Mega Man Star Force, 7 games in 3 years (in sets of 3, 2, and 2). The last two entries were Mega Man Star Force 3: Black Ace and Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker from 2009. Capcom has shockingly only released two Mega Man games this year, the WW/XBLA/PSN game Mega Man 10 and the DS compilation Mega Man Zero Collection.

I wonder if one of those will be a 3DS game. I don't think we're going to get anymore relevant Wii support from Capcom.

I don't think Capcom will do Tatsunoko vs. Capcom 2, for several reasons. I think it did well, but not well enough to warrant a sequel, I don't think there's significant creative reason for it, and I think Capcom knows that the core fan base that would support something like that would see it as a slap in the face to get that instead of Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

So far, I've read on IGN that Capcom unveiled a new Devil May Cry game and also more stuff on Dead Rising 2.

On an unrelated note, Team Ninja unveiled Ninja Gaiden III, EA showed off Alice Madness Returns and Shadow of the Damned . These announcements are still new but TGS seems to be underway. Totally forgot that considerable time zone difference.  ;D

And on a completely different note, I saw an ad that claimed to give away a free case to everyone who buys a DSi. The company behind the claim: GameStop.

I just watched the trailers for DMC, and Asura's Wrath.
I like Dante's new look, he has a punk attitude that just calls for wreaking havoc. Love it.
I'm so glad that they're making an Eastern God of War game. It looks great too.
