A number of trademarks registered by Nintendo in Japan have been uncovered, with the majority expected to be related to 3DS connectivity.

CrossPass, CrossPass Mode, CrossPass Network, and CrossPass Connection are the registered terms that have been discovered. It is speculated that these terms relate to the Tag Mode already described by Nintendo, which allows 3DS units to connect while in standby mode to exchange game data such as score tables.

Additionally, trademarks were registered for Target Shooting, 3D Paddleball, 3D Challenge, and 3D Hopper. These correspond to the four tech demos that were playable at E3 2010 on 3DS, but it is unknown yet whether they are intended to be full games.
