Last year, Gamestop introduced a reservation program that allowed customers on Friday, December 21st to pay upfront for a Wii console and then pick up the system when it arrived sometime in January. This year, with a shortage of DS systems, Gamestop has instituted a similar program that allows shoppers to put a reservation down on the Cobalt/Black, Crimson/Black, and Metallic Rose DS Lite systems.

In order to place the reservation, buyers must put down the full $129.99 price tag for the DS. Customers who make DS reservations will immediately receive a special gift card tin. The reserved systems are expected to arrive sometime between December 28th, 2008 and January 15th, 2009.

DS reservations can be made at any Gamestop store in the United States of America.
