I'll get back on the topic of how one could improve upon Tetris.
It is possible and it has been done. Tetris Attack on SNES comin' like what. November 9th. Pre-order now for a bonus making of DVD and a shiny metal case.

I say Too Human will be published by 3D Realms and feature a blonde, muscular guy who throws out Evil Dead quotes.

I'll believe this when I see it.  Or at least when I hear it from more sources.  I don't really mind either way, Silicon Knights makes great games, but they don't really suit my tastes.  I prefer sissy-boy games with cute furry characters.
That's my opinion, not yours.

If SK really wants to avoid bad sales, they should avoid the following things...

A. The Xbox (their style of game definitely won't sell there)
B. Sega (Struggling now, not so bad, but then consider...)
C. Sega ON the Xbox.

An SK-produced, Sega-published game on the Xbox is quite possibly the recipe for the worst selling game ever.

I really don't think Sega makes bad games, it's just they let good games be made by bad people.  Because remember Sega made F-Zero (and yes it was Amusement Vision, but last I heard that was Sega) and let's not forget Shenmue, those games are the clear definition of games, although making you have nothing to do for a while, it is FUN (Animal Crossing).  If Too Human does come out on X-Box, then I'm gonna be like Simmons and say "Whoop-de-****ing-doo, they'll have two bases inside a boxed canyon"  That's all that can be said.

It is not really a question of bad games, Sgt.  Sega makes fantastic games.  F-Zero GX is the best game this generation, and those that disagree with that are just flat wrong. </bravado>  It's more a matter of what sells on the Xbox.  Silicon Knights - GCN fanbase + Xbox userbase + Xbox apathy for Silicon Knights + Xbox Apathy for Sega + Xbox apathy for games that do not feature some sort of online mode = Recipe for disaster.

In the NPD thread in GameCube Discussion, I said that Eternal Darkness outsold JSRF (A launch Xbox Title) and Panzer Dragoon Orta (which had rave reviews and a massive ad campaign) combined.  If The Twin Snakes sells at the rate it is, it will probably outsell Eternal Darkness by the end of this year.  If sales are what they are concerned with, then they are already doing better than what Sega and the Xbox can hypothetically benefit them.  So that means Denis has done something foolish, Denis is now a pawn of Microsoft wearing a big moneyhat, or this is all just bull-malarkey made up by a site to draw attention to itself.

Kinda of like when a couple of years ago IGN reported that Nintendo quit the game business and joined Microsoft...(sure it was April Fools but there are ALOT of stupid people in the world)

It just makes things so damn annoying if its true.  First they eff off PSX fans by taking off a game they been working on for the PSX to use all its power, then they put in on the GCN and they got one game going to feed our hunger and while things are getting set for the release of Too Human, they then put it exclusive on the xbox.  Its like screw you Sk just finish a damn game and release it.  You don't piss off people like that.

ok think of this Sega drops sports games for gamecube..so ea doesnt just so it makes ea look good..and then ea at least makes money on it. Sega makes shenmue for xbox instead of the gamecube which has game players which would appreciate its style of play...and sells worth crap.

also i remember one of the things acclaim used to talk about in the n64 days..i remember someone saying somehtign to this extent. "playstation is a more popular contender...however because we support n64 with more exclusives...we do better because its a smaller market..thus all our resources go to making better games on n64 and the smaller market is enough to allow us to sell millions of copies of turok because we don't have to compete with everyone elses games"....well in the generation change this was dropped and acclaim is going out of business.

*Reality hits with the truth that Shenmue II wasn't on GameCube nor U.S. Dreamcast.

Sega's release policy amounts to getting burnt and screaming "Turn up the heat!". If they want to drive themselves even deeper into the ground, let them.

Sega is doing better than everyone is acting.  Their profits nearly doubled last year.  And all I want is a new Panzer Dragoon game for Gamecube... Preferably a sequel to Panzer Dragoon Saga... And even though ED supposedly outsold JSRF and Orta combined, it still only sold about 500,000... which is pathetic for a Nintendo title.

500,000 is not pathetic for any title- in fact, it's very good. Besides, I thought Eternal Darkness only sold 200,000 or so copies.

You want a better bit of trivia, though? Sonic Adventure 2: Battle outsold all Sega's XBox exclusives combined. If Sega's profits are doubling, it's certainly not because of their XBox games.

Sega hasn't had a single million selling game this entire generation, its bad when a single pokemon title outsells an entire companies total sales, for the ENTIRE generation.

Either way, i don't believe this rumor, and I know the staff over at gamedaily.  I won't believe anything i hear about SK till i see it officially.

I thought adventure 2: Battle was incredibly close.  I was even sure it trumped Sonic Heroes in sales.  I know it has moved at least 900k.

Last I had heard SA2:B had sold over a million copies. Or maybe it was shipped over a million- I can't remember now.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle has sold 884,143 units in the US as of May 2004, and it is Segas highest selling game this generation. Sonic Mega Collection has sold 446,733, Super Monkey Ball has sold 486,085, and Sonic Heroes GC has sold 382,120.

Sega has made far more money on GCN than PS2 and Xbox.
