I think it also depends on genre...

action games like Mario I prefer no more than 10 hours ( not including secrets and such)
RPGs .. anythin above 20-30 hours is too much for me
racing .. if it's GT.. dont really care how long as long as there's replayability
sports.. a ton of replayability..doesnt really fall under this topic

All in all, I'm a casual gamer (spend no more than 5 hours a week on my Cube) and like many I don't desire a very lengthy game.  I would much rather have a short game (say 8+ hours) with a lot of replayability (e.g. get new cars, characters, plentiful secrets) than a game that is say 40 hours and requires u to play constantly to remember what you did the last time you played it.

I just beat Max Payne 2 on PC (action genre - took me 10 hours in 3 days), and I felt the game was a little tedious andd boring toward the end.  But then again it does have a deep story so it's not a total loss.

i can understand what they  mean, sometimes i feel like i just no longer have time, not even an hour a day, i been thinking fo buying a second cube and bringing it to work , just so i can play some games i have not had time to finish.

i have yet to beat ikuruga, RE 2, ssx2 (just got for 9 bucks at best buy last week) billy hatcher, star wars, reign of fire,

i think i own about 40 others but i have beat them all, but these last few months i have just had no time to play, have not really even touched my GBA either.
