All I gotta say about Mario is everyone better start searching for a Broadband Adaptor because playing that game through Gamespy Tunnel is going to rule

Also I think that Rebel Strike is going to be good no matter what people say because it has way more replay value and a bgger variety of mission types(i hear the walker missions rule)

Mario, that was just cold.  I was also wondering, do some people already have the next magazine?

Same with me.  But so is October.  I am getting 4 new games next week. 1 on Monday and 3 on Tuesday.

You're insane.

With that score is Mario Kart the highest rated Cube game by EGM?

Such a high score suggests that it's an amazing title but I've never really regarded the Mario Kart series as highly as most do (I prefer the high speeds of F-Zero).  I imagine that for me it will still be a really fun party game but I'm not expecting it to be the top game on the Cube, favourable reviews aside.

I believe that Zelda: WW got the same scores.  The guy that gave it a 9.5 was hammered with many emails.

I ditched my credit cards a long time ago they are pointless. I just use cash it doesn't end up costing me more in the long run.

IanSane:  As stated above, the Wind Waker received the same scores as Double Dash.  Also, Metroid Prime got straight tens.  I forget what Super Smash Bros. got, although I would assume that it was pretty much in that range as well.

Metroid Prime got 10 10 10
something it deserved according to me, it was one of the very flew platinum games, ever.

I wasn't sure if I was going to get Double Dash, having already bought 2 racing games this year (quite a bit for me) Another one is a little bit too much. (Burnout 2 and F-Zero GX)

Not like its going to stop me though, I need to see more reviews though.

O.. why wasn't "Metal Arms: Glitch to the system" in that EGM? Its looking *REALLY* good.

I don't trust EGM's opinions at all.  But they are funny, and they have Hsu and Chan, so I get the magazine.

Or I got it.  I may have to resubscribe.  Haven't been getting it of late.

Oh-ho!  But cash won't get you overnight shipping from EBgames.com!
Nor will it convince Capcom to send you a pre-ordered game a week before its street date!

I stopped trusting EGM's reviews when they gave Pod Racer a Gold, and game of the month, while World Driver Championship got something like 6's and 7's. Some of their reviews aren't even done entirely by EGM staffers, but by editors from their sister mags. It's not a good idea to have people from Xbox Nation (I think that's one of them) reviewing Nintendo games. EGM even claimed that the e-reader extras in SMA4:SMB3 were already on the game, and that you just unlocked them. Can anyone confirm this, because it just sounds like they were trying to make Nintendo look bad.

I know it makes me look crazy to call them biased with these latest scores, but their tone towards Nintendo in the rest of the magazine is always very pessimistic, while they never, EVER criticize Sony. They may criticize some of their games, but never anything in general about the PSX or PS2.

Urkel: I always thought that e-reader worked by already having the required information and just comparing the data it gets with a checksum, then granting access to the feature. I'm not sure what the e-reader even IS, but if it's a barcode scanner like I think there's no way one could cram multiple kilobytes into that code.

It's like a barcode scanner, except instead of scanning bars, it scans tiny dots. I think it can hold something like 2.2 kilobytes of compressed data on a whole card. While the e-reader has been used to unlock features and items that are already in the game like in Animal Crossing, it's mainly used for new content that only exists on the card.

I don't even really care all that much, it's just that EGM is implying that Nintendo is screwing us over by having the e-reader stuff to unlock levels that are supposedly already on the cartridge. It would kind of defeat the purpose of the e-reader if none of it was used to download new and original content. Can anyone with SMB3 and an e-reader confirm this? In other words, once you scan a card for a new level, does it unlock something that you can access whenever you want without ever having to scan that card again, or is that level data only on the card?

I know alot of people dont care for IGN, but I usally agree with most of their scores, and if anything, they are even a little tough on games.  IGN doesnt review a game until they get the final version, not a month early version.  The last month of development is crunch time, and developers work like mad to polish a game before release.  I wouldnt be suprised if the final version of RS3 gets a much higher score from people reviewing the final version.  From the way it sounds, game informer reviewed the version that was at E3.

I stopped caring about the reviews in EGM after the whole XBox vs. GCN thing they did.  Why after so many years of saying that you should get the system that best suits you, the system with the games you want to play, did they all of a sudden find that there was no problem in saying which system is better?  EGM to me is a hypocritical magazine and I don't make my purchases based on thier reviews
