That rumor was bundled with a "PSP will be released in March" rumor...Because of that second one, I just can't believe the first one

hahaha i remember when megaton was around....everyone was just making blind guesses. and some people were saying nintendo was going to release a hard drive and ram expansion with the gba player...some were saying that nintendo was buying capcom, sega and namco....WHAHAHHAHA and everyone was going crazy and thought it was all true...a great learning expirience for me and a lot of other people.....from what i have read, i think it could be the new gameboy....but it does seem early to announce that. who knows lets just wait and see.

Psp will be lucky if it releases in late 2004. They don't even have real dev kits. They expect developers to make quality software using a Psp emulator program....They must be kidding.

By the way, my GameCube is already portable, that's why it comes with a handle.

Yes, i saw that too... but... thats not why. Thats just from some casual gheymer making assumtions who passed them off as facts methinks. PSP in March, no freaking way. I still think a portable GameCube is in the works though.

i think it will be a portable gamecube as well. i just dont see any other choice for nintendo, although i've thought that the plan was always to make the gamecube the next version of gameboy. i remember reading an interview with someone at nintendo around the gamecube launch(i dont remember who it was), where they mentioned when they designed the gamecube they wanted it to be small, and cheap to produce. it just seems like nintendo has been planning this all along.

I actually wouldn't mind this at all, though there is one problem. Nintendo said they would have dev kits for their next GB out this winter. Why would they need new dev kits if they could just use the GC dev kits? Unless they are going with new media, which makes absolutely no sense at all.

Ninty won't have two handheld hardwares out to compete against each other...

hey guys, your forgetting a key Nintendo principal, make it affordable. Do you guys think that shoving all the power of a Gamecube into a GBA with a screen would be cheap. heck no, they aren't gonna go with a portable Gamecube, it would be to expensive and it would eat up a lot of batteries. It would be just like the PSP, which i think will be a total failure just because of its price and battery life.

Intresting.... Rick you say a game for a popular franchise, will that be something like a product based game? or a game series we know all too well? Could it be the oft talked about sequel to FFVII??? or maybe Chrono Trigger ( A real true sequel ) 1st party or 3rd?

As I said before, Super Mario 128, New Zelda game, or even FFVII is looking more and more likely. I would personally like to see Kid Icarus myself

Well, I'd LOVE for FFVII to come out, remake, port, whatever. You see, I bought this game from Gmaestop only to find 5 months later, when i pretty much first played it, that it was broken. I never bought a new one. I REALLY want this game.

Ditto. I love the whole theme of those 2 games(1 on GB). I wish they would confirm it already. Don't know if i'd want it in 3d, however. 2.5 d all the way!

Personally I hope it is a new game or something because I dont want to buy new hardware. I love gamecube as a system and i dont need to buy all new accessories for a new system

As for Mushroom Kingdoms: I would think that this is another name for Nintendo's Online world.. back in the days of the "StarCube" someone had an interesting Idea that Nintendo's online community would be named and created as a true community with different places (bearing Nintendo Trademark names) serving as the forum, chat room, gaming area, etc. [i.e. Hyrule Castle is the chat room, blah blah blah]

Now, what I would like to see is an online Zelda game, maybe not featuring Link, but instead you could be of the different races (Goron, Gerudo, Zora, Sheikah, Kokiri [though Kokiri can't leave the forest.. oh well they could find away around that], or Hylian)

And maybe the game could take place after Zelda: The Adventure of Link, when Hyrule starts rebuilding, and the Kokiri could be more like wood elves, the sheikah could be like ninjas, and the Gerudo could be awesome fighters (like the Aiel in Wheel of Time)..

If Nintendo is kind to us, then this announcement will be Kid Icarus, except If it is then I hope that it has lots of wicked fights or powerups... and eventually you could have those flying stages and be strapped with crazy Magick out the yin-yang

Kid Icarus is popular with people who played the NES back then . Which is a lot of us. Metroid wasnt a huge franchise either. In fact, it wasn't popular in Japan at all. Kid Icarus was on the same level as Metroid was until Super Metroid. I'll venture a guess and say Kid Icarus would sell just as well as Mario Tennis. Having said all that, i doubt thats the announcement. It seems to suggest a 3rd party title, which means it'll be exclusive because you wouldnt announce a multi platform game...unless its the double pack GTa3 and vice city.
