Large file sizes aren't inherently tied to the amount of content in a game. Nintendo's games especially generally do not have very large file sizes (comparatively to other developers), but there's usually a lot of game in there. It depends on what developers are using that memory for.

The download and disc will likely be identical, outside of maybe Nintendo offering a special gift for going the eshop route like they're doing with the Donkey Kong Original Edition with select 3DS titles.

From the sound of it, every first party Wii U game will be available as a download, so I wouldn't take it being available that way as any kind of indicator of the amount of content it has.

So I'm hearing rumors that you can get this game for free on Black Friday at Old Navy for spending $40-50 on their clothing.  Anyone else hear if this is true?

If their leaked Black Friday ad is real, then it is true: http://www.theblackfriday.com/ads/oldnavy/oldnavy-black-friday-ad2.shtml

Get a free copy of New Super Mario Bros. U if you buy $40 worth of clothes. Expect this to go fast.

I agree. I may be getting a bunch of new clothes on BF.  Probably means I have to stand in line starting at midnight or earlier though.

Darn them.  I have NSMBU Pre-ordered if I knew I could definitely get it I would do this.  Old Navy clothes are generally made well.

You could always cancel the preorder and go for this.  My guess is there will be a lot of copies of NSMBU available...unless you are getting it for a discount.

I wonder if they're set up to give out digital copies of it if people want them.

If so, that'd be pretty cool. I'm tempted to do this but... I don't know how many copies each store would have. I'm wondering if it's worth taking a risk braving the crowds.

Given supply constraints, I can't imagine that many people at Old Navy on Black Friday will even own a Wii U, unless they're coming specifically to get the game.

Yes, but then I have to wait to play the game and I only have Zombi U and Nintendo Land.

I remember 2 or 3 years ago, they gave out LEGO Rock Band and those were gone in less than a hour. I think this will go just as fast.

There aren't any Old Navy stores around here, otherwise I'd probably try to get one of those even though I'm not getting the system anytime soon.

I have decided that I will be getting a WiiU in January, and this is the only game I am interested at the time. I might pick up that Dragon Quest when/if it comes out but until then I will be happy playing Mario. Aside from that I probably won't be around here much for a while, finals are coming up and my interest in this console is starting to die out.

So by less than an hour you mean... If I show up at the opening I can reasonable hope to get some apparel and the game?

Depends on the crowd. All I know is I showed up an hour after they opened and the games were all gone.

You best try on your pants and polos quickly so you can buy them and hopefully get the game after your purchase, imo.

They're doing the wrist band thing at Old Navy. So I think if I show up early enough, I can get a wristband and then I can take my time shopping and redeem my wristband when I check out at my leisure. The question is HOW early?

I'd go to your store and see if they have any idea.  Also, you'd be able to find out when they open and when they will hand out the wristbands.

IGN put up some new videos of levels in NSMBU that look pretty cool:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/14/an-early-look-at-new-super-mario-bros-u

But the biggest takeaway for me is that THE ANNOYING CHIPMUNK VOICE MUSIC IS STILL USED IN THIS GAME!.  Nooooooo.  For some reason I don't remember hearing that before in other videos, maybe I just wasn't paying attention.
I got hooked on the white stuff back in the 70s.

Can we please go off about the music on miiverse? Seriously 4 games in a row should not have basically the same sound track.

So it looks like Old Navy is opening at midnight on Black Friday.  I think this may be the first one where I do a midnight BF deal, or at least try.
