Thanks for your concern, mr_lakitu. It wasn't a family emergency, I just had some family members coming to Colorado and needed to pick them up from the airport.

The 2D sequences in the Galaxy games are way better than anything in either of the NSMB games. If they want to continue the 2D games, they need to be more like that.

I'm going to assume that I just quashed all differing opinions so thoroughly that not even Sly Stallone's steroid regimen circa 1984 could give them enough spine to stand up to this.

As such, I have implemented a new word filter. The bad name goes to the correct name.

Amen.

I borrowed my friend's copy of Mass Effect 1 and his 360 (don't have one of my own) and blitzed through Mass Effect. If you stick to the main quest stuff and nothing else, Mass Effect is a 12 hour game. There's lots of stuff in that game that I never saw, but it doesn't matter a great deal as none of it will transfer to my PS3 copy of Mass Effect 2.

Hey RFN makers and listeners... I'm out of town on business.  It's 4:30AM. I'm eating pizza and barely keeping awake so I'm just gonna post my "raw" responses this time... especially since it's practically time for the next episode!!

Derive what you will from this unrefined coal of thoughts .............

~~~~~~~~~
I've said before, the drab nature of FF3(6j) never appealed to me as much as the other games in the series, but the idea of using characters instead of blank avatars does go a loooong way with me.  I still love me my Zelda games, I'm so glad Samus was given a voice in Other M and I'm so glad to see Pit has a voice in KI:U.  If it's an MMO? fine. let US make the character.  but if the game is going to provide a character for us? at least have the balls to finish establishing that character!
So far, I have yet to see anything fron Shantae or Milky Milk Might that makes me want to pick up either one.  I've heard amazing things, I love 2D platformy shooty stuff ... for some reason they just haven't motivated me to pick 'em up. *shrug*
around 34:35 mins... platforms blow you? O_o
hmmm "insanely twisted shadow planet" looks amazing.  but why so dark (like Limbo)? can 2D not be accepted by the HD crowd unless it's literally DARK?
I was starved for anything game-related in that day, so I would tune in to Captain N when possible... but it's true, even at the time, I didn't ENJOY watching it... it was just not a reasonable representation of the franchises.
that's an interesting point about the N64 and GC not having 2D Marios.  however, as Lindy and Greg said, in those eras, 2D was "outdated".  it has only been in relatively recent times when it became OK to do 2D again.  also, mark my words, we're gonna see some cool 2D games on 3DS.  you can do that paralax stuff and make some kick ass 3D effects with "flat" objects.
Note: I love Greg's insight and perspective paired with James' wealth of knowledge. (though sometimes he keeps rambling over the gaps in his knowledge, but I'll forgive it given the big picture =P)
overall, yes, I'm very glad that Nintendo still makes accessible 2D and complex 3D games!
and hey man, Penguin Suit rules!
ohhh poor Busby.  what a waste of a Christmas List spot that sequel was! =P
perhaps NSMBWU will add online multiplayer.  imagine if your buddy (in Mii form) was playing along with you!
I am a lover of the entire MM and MMX series.  not crazy about MMZ.  LOVED Legends 1+2. very sad about MML3 =(
don't care about the other MM franchises.
WOW. the Double Dash Mario Kart Wii U idea is mind-blowing.
the arcade games don't count. period.
