First Person Shooter
if you do a FPS, then when you hold the uScreen up it becomes your scope.
And you could hook into the gun grip just like in the Nintendo conference and the uScreen combined with Wiimote/chuck become a fully functioning gun with a digital scope.
You physically move the uscreen around and that is how you aim when in scope mode (if not using the gun).
The uScreen can also be used for special gadgets such as drones. Use the uScreen to control your drone or watch it's video feed. video feed of your drone can be sent to all your team members too if you deploy the only drone for the mission. Can also be used to tap into video feeds and disarm locks and things of that sort.
3rd Person Action
Or you could hold the controller up to the screen and it acts as a camera.
Think BG&E or even Pokémon Snap. In BG&E, Jade has a camera and you have to snap photos in some pretty action filled moments sometimes. With the help of a uScreen, you don't even have to slow down as you can continue to run around and just hold the uScreen up and use it as the 6" LCD viewfinder of your camera, snapping photos as fast as you can using R and zooming in and out with LZ & RZ.
I've never played a Pokémon game, but I imiage Pokémon Snap would work the same way.
Sports
In a basketball or Football game the uScreen can be used to not only secretly select plays, but to do on-the-fly play changes, guard changing, audibles. You can physically draw on the screen to pass to certain people or create a play/path you want them to follow.
In Football you can do like the demo and hold the controller up to catch a pass/intercept by keeping the ball in the circle if you can.
In Basketball, you can aim your shots by holding the controller up... a specific example is using it to shoot free throws. But can be used during the game in intense moments by holding the uScreen up as you jump (in the game) then locating the basket and releasing the jump/shoot button at the peak of your jump.
Both Basketball & Football will require each player to have their own uScreen.
Nintendo already showed Baseball. But it could work similar to Basketball/Football and you use the uScreen to not only catch the ball (by keeping it in the circle), but to select where you want to pitch or who you want to throw the ball to. You can with either use the touch screen to select a specific base you want to throw to, or go into Advanced mode and use the uScreen as your viewfinder and aim the throw yourself. Need to throw it home but the second baseman is in your way? then aim higher and throw it over his head.
Nintendo's Golf idea was pretty sick. put the uScreen on the floor and that is your ball & tee. Use your Wiimote+ as your club and swing away. What I would add to it is if you are not holding down just A (In Tiger Wood, holding down just A allows you to step up to the ball and practice swing, holding A&B means your ready to hit the ball), then you see where your club positioning on the uScreen as it hovers over the ball for your practice swings or putts.
Driving
In a driving game. the uScreen can be used as a Rearview mirror and a car view. Car View will be an outline of your car so you can see how much damage has been done to your car and where. It can also be used to show how much gas you have left and depending on the racing game, how much NO2. If it is a battle style game, you can use the touch screen to select different onboard weapons for deployment, such as spikes, oil slicks, grenades, glue, etc etc.
3rd person Adventure
In an Adventure game i.e. Zelda, the touch screen could be used as your inventory and map. Now you won't need to pause to switch out weapons or items, and with the push of a button or touch of the screen, you can switch to map mode and see the game map so you know where to go. uScreen can also be used to manually look around and aim weapons/items such as a grappling hook, hooshot, boomerang, bow and arrow, etc etc.
1st/3rd Person Stealth
In a stealth action game like MGS, the uScreen can act as your coms unit and display messages as they are recieved and all the while you need to continue to play the games because the guards don't go on break while you are chatting for 10 minutes. This means that you need to find a good place to hide or continually move away from or deal with the guards to carry on your conversation.
You could also have a 4-8 player online squad based MGS-style game (maybe a Tom Clancy Rainbow Six would work) and you use the camera on the controller as video chat in your MGS style coms unit. Now you can communicate as you all sneak around the complex trying to complete a mission*. You could also hold the uScreen up to use/aim stealthy weapons and items like dart/tranq guns and grappling hooks & binoculars.
*(edit: I've watched the Ubisoft Dev conference and this idea is just like the one in the Ghost Recon video)
Fighting
uScreen can show a visual close up of your players face/body getting distorted next to a move list so that you can always know what your character can do. This works well in a fighter like Street Fighter & Tekken but especially well in a game like Mortal Kombat where you have finishers in addition to your character move set.
But this also works for a game like:
Boxing where it can show an outline of your face and body so that you can see where you've taken alot of damage so that you know where your weak points are and where the opponent has been hitting you for massive damage. Why is this important? Now a boxing game can let you know that your eye is blacked out and represent that with a fading of that corner of your screen. You will know as it's happening and do your best to protect that side of your face from taking further damage. Or you'll know that they have been working your body alot and that will lower your reaction time on a counter punch as your ribs are a little bruised. Also with the uScreen you will now be able to manage your character in the corner by physically applying the vaseline to the affected ares of the face and handle and bleeding. Much more immersive.
RPG
uScreen can obviously be used for inventory management. You can swap out weapons, armor, clothing, amulets and other accessories without having to pause... you could even do it during the cutscenes. But another use would be to manually do the gesture for spells in real time (i.e. draw a circle with a triangle in it is a spell of protection) or mix ingredients together for spells that are based on alchemy. You could also position you characters for battle in turn based games (move this person forward and this one back) or swap them out after an attack. You could create spells/potions and apply them to certain characters and/or item/weapons in the heat of battle.
Real Time / Turn Based Strategy
uScreen can be your map for quickly getting to certain points of the playing field. In a game like StartCraft, the uScreen could also be your base management screen so that you can continue to produce more soldiers or tanks or start that new technology research without having to leave the area of interest on the Big Screen, such as an ongoing battle. You could basically be in 2 places at once.
It can also be used to display personal stats for the character/troop you have selected like how many units are currently selected, their health, status, rank, level, name, etc etc.
That's it for now. Maybe more later
