Actually, if anything, I'm totally wasting it at this point.  I still use a regular DVD player (progressive scan, at least) and the only console I have it a Wii.  I just got this because it's a solid TV, I got it at a good price, and it's future-proof for at least the next decade.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Sadly, it's been my experience that the sharper the TV, the less justice progressive scan does for it.

Progressive does awesome things for projection TVs that can display 480p, but anything LCD just tends to make a jagged mess out of everything.

Still, the color contrast can't be beat.
