I need to see how well The Conduit turns out first.  Then I'll have an idea if these guys are a dev where I'm going to be excited about every game they make.  In the hands of a good dev this concept COULD be good but if Conduit is TEH SUCKS then I'm only going to pay attention to this if it cleans up in reviews.

So if the Conduit is mediocre, are we going to live though another 2 year hype train for Gladiator?

Isn't that true of any game?  Are we not always under hype from anything?

Some more than others.  Mad Dog McCree: Gunslinger Pack is dropping next week, but I don't see a thread for it.  There's just not the same love for Mad dog in 2009 like there was in 1989.

The previews so far sound like it's pretty good, unlike their WiiWare games.

If it's "pretty good" for what's already known to be a straight-line corridor shooter, then that's worth attention.

HVS are really trying to prove they're the most pathetic developer on the Wii aren't they?

I'm surprised no one has posted the video of this game yet.

Let the judgment begin.

edit:
Quote from: IGN podcast
"High Voltage called after we posted it (the trailer) and said 'That's really not the trailer we wanna put out there, we're gonna send you a better trailer that shows an updated build of the game, with more characters and such'...So we're gonna put that up tonight or tomorrow for you guys"

so hopefully there is a better trailer on the way.

Yeah that trailer sucked. Hard.

The gameplay couldn't look less interesting from that trailer, and the graphics weren't anything write home about. I'm guessing they may have a hard time picking up a publisher for this game. The Conduit seemed from day 1 to be perfectly capable of getting one, however, this is far gorier, and far less interesting looking. I guess it all hinges on the success of The Conduit.

Wow that trailer is duller than I thought it would be. Certainly looks very early.

They're trying "too" hard. "Too" was the keyword you obviously missed.

I thought the trailer looked pretty good. You can tell it's early on, but the animation and character detail was very nice.

Did you read what I wrote in the talk back thread? I pretty much told them, I appreciate the attention, but I don't want them to kill themselves over this :P

Trailer is very early.  This game isn't really my cup of tea also.... so I'm not sure I'm going to be into it. The Conduit and The Grinder are more my cup of tea.

I think IGN produced that trailer from the early copy that they got to play. I'm pretty sure thats why HVS contacted them saying that they were gonna send them a better trailer that is more representive of where the game is at now. But I think in the eyes of many right now, the damage has been done. People will forever be critical of The Gladiator A.D. even though we know it has atleast 6 month minimum to go.
