First Guitar Hero 5 details. BEASTLY first tracks.

Yes, another one but this one sounds worth it.

GHWT DLC works with GH5.

Drop in-Drop out stuff sounds really awesome.

Confirmed Songs
The Rolling Stones – "Sympathy for the Devil"
Bob Dylan – "All Along The Watchtower"
The White Stripes – "Blue Orchid"
Santana – "No One To Depend On (LIVE)"
Vampire Weekend – "A-Punk"

Johnny Cash – "Ring of Fire"

I'm not a music buff, and the only songs on that list I have even heard of are "Ring of Fire" and "Running Down a Dream".

I hope that this one bucks the trend of going up in price. Almost every Guitar Hero and Rock Band game has been more expensive than the previous one.

How can you do a full band version of White Stripes? That band lacks a bassist.

You've never heard of "Sympathy for the Devil" or "All Along the Watchtower"? There's a difference between not being a "music buff" and simply living under a rock.

Some good stuff there, though why the Bob Dylan "Watchtower" instead of the Jimi Hendrix version? Also, why can't these all be Rock Band DLC instead? My gaming budget is going to be a lot more limited in the fall, I don't want to have to buy this.

I rarely ever listen to the radio (pretty much the only time I do is the 15 minute car ride to and from school) and I don't watch music channels. So my music knowledge is pretty much limited to what I hear in TV shows/movies I watch and video games I play.

I know that, and it's not that I don't like Dylan's version, I do, but doesn't Hendrix's seem more like a Guitar Hero song?

EDIT-- Yeah, I went back and listened to both versions, the Hendrix version would definitely be more interesting to play in Guitar Hero on both guitar and drums. Unless Neversoft's big E3 reveal is that they're adding the harmonica as a playable instrument (which I would be fully in favor of as I love the harmonica).

Oh and Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" was confirmed via USA Today article.  The variety already seen is making me happy.

Also it's better. But the Battlestar Galactica version is the best one.

I would totally buy Guitar Hero: Stevie Wonder.  For serious.  Need a keyboard, though.

Is anyone else nervous that Wii owners will be screwed out of being able to import the songs from World Tour to avoid disc swapping?  I hope not...

Considering that Rock Band Country Track Pack will only let PS3 and Xbox 360 owners import their songs, I doubt Guitar Hero 5 will do it. Activision could land a major blow against MTV Games if they did allow it though. It might convince Wii owners to get Guitar Hero rather than Rock Band.

This is very true, though I don't know how well it would translate to Guitar Hero.

The article only mentions downloaded tracks, not disc-based ones. I see no reason why DLC can't be supported in whatever game is released. Activision would be smart to allow importing of older discs though, as World Tour and GH: Metallica's tracks would definitely add some weight to whatever comes along with GH5.

this is a really bad list in my opinion.  the face to face song is one of there worst.  why a live nirvana song.... why? not sure about the sonic youth song. the bronx song is terrible.  rammstein, well thats just garbage... and i really really really hate bon jovi.  the rest of the list is ok, but this has to be the most dissapointing guitar hero list ever.

This is odd because.. well, i have a diverse taste in music, but hardly any of these tracks appeal to me. Even though there's artists on there i like, i can't say the same for the selected song.

The only two songs i can see myself having a lot of fun to are "So Lonely" by the Police, even though its a bit slow paced, and "American Girl" by Tom Petty. The Police track will just be fun to shout "I feel so alone" in a high pitch squeal, immitating Sting, at the end of the track lol.. that part always makes me laugh, i can't help it!

I don't think I could disagree more, I think this is shaping up to be one of if not the best song lists ever. I might even call it the best right now if they switched the Dylan Watchtower to the Hendrix version (yes I'm still mad about that).

I hate when I band I like puts a song on one of these games, because it makes me want one of these horrible games.

Then I remember I can just play them on my real guitar and my hate subsides.
