Quantum of Solace
« on: August 14, 2008, 11:35:01 PM »
I was browsing the Nintendo channel this evening, and there is a Quantum of Solace trailer on there. I figure this should be some decent news as its the first media I've seen for the game on Wii.

You all should go check it out. Its not mind-blowing, but its better than Alone in the Dark... ;)

How did I miss this? The footage looks impressive, I hope they transition from first to third person well.

I'll see the film and make sure i make a evan-class like comment.

I will check and see if this is on our nintendo channel later today, but i'm going to give Activision benefit of the doubt especially as it's using (parts of) the COD4 engine and they've not had a decade of wishy-washy.

Bond was much more entertaining with Brosnan and Connery. Why does everything need to undertake a "dark and gritty" reboot? The first film "adaption" of Casino Royale was more interesting, heh...

Nintendo did a remarkable job of compressing what was an HD/360 trailer (destroyed it).  The trailer makes the game look possible on PSP.

Blu-Ray quality videos on the Nintendo Channel or I walk.

I played Golden Eye: Rogue Agent and it was awful. I played Everything or Nothing and it was too choreographed and meh. QOS is a new company so I have hope.

Man, you're right. I hadn't seen the trailer before. After your post I went to IGN to look around and found the trailer. Same thing, just extremely compressed. Man, Nintendo is cheap.

Isn't this also being made by Treyarch?  Where's the promises that the Wii version will measure up to the HD version?  What, there are none? oh

Activision has the license now and Treyarch the developer is Activision's studio. EA was the one that actually mucked up the James Bond games well most of them.

I find it hilarious and almost embarrassing that only the Wii version will have local multiplayer...

Well we knew all along that the power of PS3 and 360 can't handle offline co-op or splitscreen only the Wii is powerful enough to do that. or PS3 and 360 devs are lazy and just make all multiplayer online or LAN only

The simpel fact that we're getting a Wii version of this game is decidedly epic.

Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Why won't Activision show us that the Wii version is good instead of just telling the press "it's going to be good"?

Do they expect the Wii version to sell anyway and therefore they don't need to hype it?

If they really want this to be the best version, and beat out Goldeneye 007 as the best JB game, they should let there be a cheat for Wii's 4-player split screen death match; Retro Graphics.
Imagine playing it and it looks identical to the N64 game<3

Doesn't it already?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

4-player split screen using IR aiming sounds kind of weird (the bounding box and the visible crosshair translations shrink considerably).

worked fine in Red Steel the few times my friends and i played it. The only hard part was actually seeing the tv because we picked the friend with the biggest room, but he had the smallest set.
Oh and thats when we realized we were too grown up for 4-player death matches on a small tv. I dont mean a maturity issue either, we just were too big physically that even though this friend had the biggest room, the small tv set had us cramped up together and thats no way for a bunch of older guys to play games. Even with two on the bed, two on the floor it didnt work because those on the floor would end up getting smacked in the head by someone trying to reload.
