A few of those aren't even exclusives. Certainly, Unreal Tournament III would be best played on your PC anyway... y'know, with a mouse and keyboard.

And people say I'M a troll.

Don't worry--we say it about Morari as well.  ;)
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

The demo for Heavenly Sword sucked, and made me not purchase.  Is it a good representation of the game?

Actually I really disliked the game after the demo but rented it and LOVED it.

What made you like it?  Sorry to derail the thread but I was always interested in the game for the graphics and the story stuff I heard about but playing the demo, it made it seem like all you did was run from one enclosed "arena" to the other and fight big hordes of enemies over and over again, then move to the the next "arena".  Plus no jump button really turned me off.

Also, Rock Band 2 looks amazing and I don't want the gimped Wii version.

Don't get Rock Band 2. Get Guitar Hero World Tour.

I fully intended to do that, until I saw the track list for Rock Band 2. I may still buy World Tour, but on the 360 because I don't want two sets of instruments.

You know I am not sure what changed, I barely remember the demo but I know I hated it. The final game is much more fleshed out and diverse, the fighting never gets super repetitive and actually gets kind of engaging as you learn new moves.

Is the combat fairly intuitive like God Of War where your new moves grow off from your old ones?  Or is it a combo memorization thing?  'Cause I really suck at those.

Yeah, I'd say it is, but it all feels so ... canned. I didn't get the appeal of the game, but my wife absolutely loves the series and has played all 3 to 100% completion.

I thought there was only one Heavenly Sword.  Or were you referring to God Of War?

Hehe, whoops. Yeah I was referring to God of War ... can't say much for Heavenly Sword, though I heard the two are quite similar in gameplay.

Well, after thinking it over, I think I'm going to get a PS3.  Though you can easily argue the 360 is a better system for "gamers", I rarely have more than 30 mins to throw into a game.  At the end of the day, I just need to get my fix w/ some racing games, a few fighters, and some unique adventure/platformers.  On top of that, I'll finally be able to watch movies in 1080p.

Still deciding whether to pick up a used 60 gig next month or the new 80, but if I go new, I may go with this deal straight from Sony.  After buying the system, you'll get a $150 credit to purchase additional games or whatever you're into.

Hey D,

I picked up the 80 GB MGS4 bundle, and I'm loving it.  It is nice having a blu-ray player and multimedia center built into one device, and hey, now I'll get to play LittleBigPlanet and Final Fantasy XIII, too.

I also picked up Soul Calibur IV -- great game.  More of the same, yeah.. but the game mechanics in that series were never broken to begin with.  :)

I'm looking more at a 360... Is the HDD very necessary?

It can be. It depends, if you just want are games from XBLA, and you also want to try out some demos too. With the upcoming fall update we can install games on the HDD. It all depends on what you want to use the 360 for.

I remember you posting that from a list of 360 games there were very few that you would actually get them if you had a 360. If I were you I would either wait until they drop the price, or just don't get it.
I've noticed that you play alot of PC games. I bought a 360 because I want to play games that are also availble on PC, but I don't want to deal with the fact that maybe I need a better graphics card, and I also want to enjoy playing these games on a big screen. I come back with my prior statement, it all depends on what you want to use the 360 for.

The 360 already got a price drop here. Theoretically there's also the option of trade-ins to get the thing even cheaper but GameStop always moves the goalposts so I never have something they'd both accept AND I'm willing to part with.

Yeah, I'm still not sure about the game selection. Would be even worse since I don't like buying games at high prices and 70€ means the game has to be a GOTY candidate (or maybe even a top-10-games-ever candidate) in a genre I love to buy it without a pricedrop. On the other hand those systems do seem more willing to do price drops, both the 360 and PS3 have bargain series (platinum or whatever they are called), Nintendo STILL doesn't have that resulting in my tiny games collection. Maybe it's just a case of the grass always being greener on the other side...

Now that the $399 80gig is here, I'm real close to picking it up instead of a used 60gig w/ backwards compatibility.  Looking at the big picture, I already have a Wii which plays a ton of gamecube games that are also on the PS2.  That said, am I missing out on any must play PS2 games that aren't GTA, Grand Tourismo, or Final Fantasy??  6 months ago Okami would have been one of those games, but that now is on the Wii of course.

Hmmm...  but my 80 GB PS3 plays PSOne and PS2 games.  Do some of them not play them?

God of War 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Yakuza, Odin Sphere, Persona 3... those are a few of my suggestions.

I think the only difference between the 60GB and the other versions is that the 60GB has the PS2 gpu (if I'm not mistaken), and the other versions of the PS3 emulate through software.

Nice list, thanks!

Here's a few that immediately caught my eye...

Gitaroo-Man
Psychonauts
Yakuza

Anyone know if Rez HD is coming to PS3?
