If we ever get any info on the following games, I will make a topic on it...

~ Infinite Undiscovery
~ Resident Evil 5
~ Alan Wake

Because that's all I really have on my 360 outlook... >_>

The announcement that Mass Effect is coming to the PC (Aspyr or TransGaming, get on the Mac version now) has severely weakened the chances of me getting a 360. EA announcing an NHL game for the Wii in addition to the NCAA Football announced today would roll the chances back to about zero.

The fact that so many next gen "exclusives" end up getting ported to PC is making it hard for me to even care about owning another console.

Truth... though my PC is so out of date that I really can't keep up with PC gaming anymore... oh well!

My problem with the PC as a gaming device is that controlling a person with a mouse and keyboard feels so unnatural to me, and that prevents me from really getting into it. It doesn't stop me from enjoying and loving 4X strategy (Civilization, Alpha Centauri), simulation games (SimCity, Railroad Tycoon), and Escape Velocity.

Yet using dual analogs is somehow more natural?  You hardly get any decent level of control out of that compared to mouse and keyboard.

There are definetally genre's that natural play better on PC than Console and Vice-Versa.  I thought about picking up a 360 when Too Human comes out.

For movement an analog stick is definitely more natural for me than a keyboard. For aiming I don't particularly like either, which is why I wasn't a big fan of first-person shooters until the Wii.

Its like I said in the RE 0 port thread, this generation is lacking exclusives. Now, if you want to play a big game you are likely to find it on another console or PC.

While ports have been happening since the dawn of gaming developers are very happy doing it nowadays. Even a game that is hailed as the system's unique killer app gets ported.

I'm afraid this is because development costs are higher thanks to the HD demands as well as fans wanting more out of their games.

I liked Crackdown on the 360, so far that is the only game. PS3, ha, I hate Playstation so no chance I'll ever own another one again as long as I live. PC, well I'm not a PC gamer, I play certain games on my PC but not the main stream stuff. So that just leaves Wii and DS, which to tell you the truth I don't even have that many games for both. Man I must be slipping, I had over 30 games for GC by the end of my first year invovled with the system and I've had my Wii since launch and still only have 6 games.

Well, the way I look at it, maybe buying more games than you can play is a phase.

*looks at own games collection*

God I hope so.

It's not like I don't have that same problem, I only have 6 Wii games for the Wii, I have 30 VC games and counting.

These are both truths for me.  I also hate:

- Installing
- Configuring
- Calibrating
- Loading
- Patching

Screw all of that stuff, I sat down to PLAY not work.

But I do have to give credit to Steam for fixing a lot of those problems.

Configuring is usually a few minutes per game, once. Calibrating hasn't been important since around 1997, if you do it at all you do it in the OS (like you do with the DS touchscreen). Loading happens on consoles too and depending on the game can be much faster on the PC. Installing and patching remain issues though (and it looks like they're going to get more popular on the consoles soon).

That still leaves Installing, insanolord's, and the reverend's reasons too.  The other thing is the frame-rate has always seemed to fluctuate more for me.  And it is the total package that annoys me, so in otherwords, Installing AND patching AND configuring for example annoy me.  Oh and having to reinstall if you bork your OS.  Oh and drivers and ever changing compatibility.

Not to mention a game like Doom is supposed to be 100% Windows Compatible but I have encountered more systems that won't run the game than will, and it's a pretty old game. Unless your PC is set up to play games it's not always a good idea to play games on it. I mostly use mine for video and audio production and making crappy websites that sink into the bottomless pit, so I don't have the best hardware for running most games.

I like a lot of the Pc games that are out there, I just don't like guessing weather or not a certain game will run on my system properly or if it will screw something up. Like my consoles, I mostly play older games anyways, and I still run into issues of incompatibility.

That's another thing, for the price of a good gaming PC you could buy all three consoles and both handhelds and still have some money left over for games.

While the topic's still fresh, I'd like to say that I hope more computer RTS games will make the leap to console.  After playing games like Battle For Middle-Earth II and Comand & Conquer 3 on the 360, the lack of a mouse doesn't seem like too much of a hurdle anymore.  And if a game like Command & Conquer works great on the 360, just imagine how well it'd work on the Wii.
