Not really...It could be just a color swap. We won't know until we see a pic.

It says in the article that it is a costume swap.  that's why the post was in the Costumes thread.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

People have been playing the game and I wonder if anyone has captured a true alt form.   Also some of the alt costumes in the link would be cool.

hmmm one wonders if classic link wont be a seperate character option altogether, it wouldn't be the first time they've done something similar. Links moves look alot different in this one. Who knows, one can hope.

Cuz "the fans" were weak and lenient enough to allow for a delay; adding more senseless fluff, as if it would make up for a Smash-less 2007-replaced-by-WiiFit, is considered tolerable to them.

i want as much senseless and unimportant stuff in the game as possible, that way in 7 years when they decide to do a sequal they'll have to bitchslap the last game even more!
Also by then hopefully Nintendo owns Konami, Sewga, Capcom, Namco and the successor to wii only has to be twice as powerful as the xbox 360 to be 200-250 dollars

Why would he be talking about an actual character?  This is the Costumes thread and it was in response to Tanookisuit's post about costumes/alternate colors.

Because of the mention of Daisy as a costume for Peach...Not exactly evidence of course, but the chances of her being a character are incredibly beyond-slim...

Alright, you win this round.  I didn't both to read the original post so I didn't see that Tanookisuit confirmed Peach's Daisy costume.  I assumed he didn't mention it and that was the reason for the question.  My bad.

this thread is mainly about costumes, however because Smash Bros is infamous for character clones thatn that up for discussion as well. In Melee there was Young Link and Link which were almost the same character, but they had some gameplay differences. I'm still hoping Celda Link makes his appearance.  With Phantom hourglass out think its apparent that more than one style of Link can exist.

In Melee one thing they did was have classic Smash Bros stages from the original, its not unlikely then that maybe previous styles of characters might pop up.

The Daisy costume is trash.  It's just another Sub-Zero/Scorpion color swap.  Which means it's not an upgrade from Melee at all.  Daisy has different hair, and Peach's model does not reflect that, while Pikachu got DIFFERENT HATS.

They can delay this game all they want.  August 2008 would be best, to combat Halo 4: How Halo 2 Should've Been.

Mario still has a Wario costume. Just sayin'.

Also, I can't confirm this, but I read somewhere that while the Daisy outfit in Melee had alternate textures and subtle differences, the Daisy outfit in Brawl is purely a recolor.

Hopefully they'll take the time to make the Daisy model a little more than a palette swap.  And I think they should get rid of the Wario colors for Mario and make that an alternate costume for Wario, for crap's sake.

IGN also believes in costumes and dedicated their latest Smash it up feature to it. You can read their choices here.
