A great first chapter...I especially like how Phoenix took on his personality from Mia...

Some interesting bits, too, surprisingly
1) Note the bit where Grossberg warns Mia about "stepping over the line" and possibly losing her badge?  From what I know about the next game, that's a pretty important plot point... =)
2) Did anyone find it odd that Dahlia said that both she and Mia would meet again?  I just found it really odd and mysterious, considering, you know, Mia is dead...

I have to bump just so I can say that the game was bloody amazing, start to finish...

The last case, in particular, was mind-bogglingly awesome...I did NOT expect to have every mystery I've thought about in the entire Phoenix Wright series explained so well...Even the little things like Armando's "don't cry until the end" quote from Case 4 popping back up at the end of Case 5 was incredibly well-done...And I like how my second question up above answered itself...

10/10, I have no idea how the fourth game will be beat this...

You finished it in 3 days?  Don't you have finals to study for or something?

Which reminds me, I still need to play the last case in the second game.  Picross DS came out and I found myself unable to remove the game from my system.

I was going to post this a while back - hopefully you guys can explain it. There's a plot-hole in the Mask-de-Masque trial which I've been wondering about. There's obviously plotholes inherent with the Magatama (why doesn't it work in court?!) but here is one in particular.

In the first part of the trial, Detective Atmey has a psyche-lock which you have to unlock, in which you find out that he gets hit in the back of the head with the Shichishito, so he was unconscious while MDM stole the urn. You then use that in trial to prove something. BUT.. in the next part while defending DeLite, you find out that Atmey rigged the whole urn-stealing, so obviously getting hit in the head wasn't true. Yet the Magatama accepted it. What's up with that?

Also..

In the third case, you find out that The Tiger paid for Viola's surgery because of her grandfather even though he told her it was because of her. Then, Phoenix says something about betrayal, and how the two things he hates the most are poisoning and betrayal, because they are cowardly. But how exactly did Tiger betray Viola?

Also, the way Godot deflected your observation that the HMD and the earpiece were on the left side was BS.

The "This is SPARDA" bit was incredible

And also, Phoenix on Victor Kudo: "That guy's gotta have some sort of unlimited ammo code for those seeds!"

Well, if you think of the Magatama as a lie detector, it's possible that Atmey was just really good at lying...No idea if that's what the producers had in mind, though...

1)  Tiger betrayed Viola by pretending to have feelings for her that he did not, obviously... =)
2)  Because Godot is a goober who has unnecessary hate for Phoenix, and thus goes to great lengths to deny his ability of observation...

Well, I've always thought of it as a secret detector rather than a lie detector (Pearl's broken vase etc). But I think they just messed up here.

1. Well, I know that, but lying isn't the predominant definition of betraying. I'm thinking that Phoenix's "posioning and betrayal" line was a reference to how Dahlia did both, and how it's still on his mind.

2. Okay, but that shouldn't hold up in court. It hadn't in the past, and when Phoenix finds a contradiction, the prosecutor or witness usually finds a reasonable explanation. Here, Godot just said "The old man saw what made an impression on him" and quickly swept it under the table. And the judge didn't say anything.

I just beat this game last night.  Bill was right--the last case was perfect.  Everything was wrapped up in a neat little package.  Kudos, Capcom.
