I bought Hotel Dusk today (after trying to track it down since Monday). I've only played an hour, but so far I really like it. As for Phoenix Wright, I liked the first one a lot, but I think I'd rather wait for #4, since it looks like it'll be coming out within another year or so.
I am Karl Castaneda's news-posting clone, also known as Karl Castaneda #2. I have an inferiority complex, thanks to my being a clone. Fear me!

I finally got this game, really liking the art style and the vertical screens.

My only question is when do I get a gun so I can start shooting more bad guys? A sword would work too.

You get a shotgun when you find all the secret numbers in the hotel, including the one located in Dunning's toilet.

Mad Bumps for Louis DeNonno!

FInally finished the game today, 31+ hours. Really liked it, I hope they do a sequel or "spiritual sequel" to this game.

BTW, anyone know how to get the Jenny comes back ending?

Screw up as little as possible and get no Game Overs...(You can tell you screwed up when a red static line goes across the screen after choosing an inappropriate response...)

Funny you should bump this; I'm starting chapter 10 tonight.  I should beat it before I go to bed.

BTW, Cing fails yet again for stupid one-time events.  Stupid coins.

That's okay, the vending machine stuff isn't needed to get the best ending...It merely can be used to regain some "mistakes" made against a certain person...

My favorite part is how Kyle is such a jerk to Iris all the time. Normally in the response options you get a good reply and bad reply. I remember in one instance, my two choices to talk to her were "You're nuts." or "You must hate kids."

Well, remember...You don't HAVE to activate the yellow "!" icon all the time... =)

That way you can avoid pissing her off too much...

Or if you don't activate the yellow icon in some conversations, you can lose the game.

I finally have this game!

well I don't exactly have it, my cousin bought it and I borrow her copy, I hate not owning the game, but now with a copy around my social circle makes it impossible for me to buy it now, it would seem like a waste of money, and I'm in no position to do that.

I'm stuck  though right after helping the old lady into the restaurant, Loui gave me a pen and now he and rosa are washing dishes while I wait for the old lady to finish her meal, what do I have to do? I've knocked every door, explored every inch of the hotel, and it still doesn't occur to me what to do with the pen, or just what to do, I thought I just had to return melissa the doll, but no one answers in her room, I don't know what I missed.

I would consult a guide by the tend to spoil things so easily...

This is the first place I got stuck in the game.

Anyway, here is a slightly less vague hint than Bill has given.
some sort of.... powdery substance can fill in grooves

What? the solution is a bit of a leap especially when the rest of the game is fairly logical. We're all just not as hardcore as yuo Bill

Oh, btw, I saw a Metroid hat at PAX. Cute asian girl was wearing it.

Stole that hat and send it to me!

Thanks for the help, without the more clear clue I wouldn't have done it, but now I'm stuck in the switch part I just got there so I haven't giving it much thought, the game clue isn't that helpful though, "two hands"?, that was pretty obvious, an unnecesary hint really.

Have I mentioned how awesome this game is? because it is, and I want more and more and more, I hope for many point and click adventures in the future of the handheld.

I finished!

awesome, awesome game, I can't wait for the next adventure game for DS, there will be a next one, right? there has to be!

Not sure if I got the best ending, I guess not, so I might replay it again, I'm hoping for a better ending for some characters, it was pretty depressing.

There's Touch Detective, Professor Layton (which I'm really excited for, but it's more puzzle than adventure oriented), and Trace Memory (have you played that already?), plus some others that I forget.
