I never understood the green blood thing.  To me, vomiting for no apparent reason is more offensive than coughing up blood after a fatal injury.

I think it's just to make him less human, because it's more "okay" to kill a monster than a person.

What would it take to get Lufia and Lufia 2 rereleased?

If someone could give me a sample of the banned fire temple music, then I can tell you if the VC version has it or not because I'm at the fire temple right now.
Today I noticed some slowdown, so I don't think this version is perfect.
And then i was at the fire temple saving the first goron and I got the key a slashed the sword accidently and the game froze, I pressed the Home button and nothing happened so I presume it was the Wii that froze, which kind of sucked because I saved right before the forest temple boss.

I didn't know that the fire temple music was changed, but rather the desert temple music was. I've got an original version 1 gold cart of OoT and still have my n64, but no easy means to record music/sound at the moment. Otherwise, i'd get you a sample of removed music.

Edit: Slowdowns were in the original game too. They were most noticable when you are fighting Gannon's human form. So I wouldn't be surprised that you're experiencing some in the VC release. Unless you are getting lots more then in the original.

The GC versions did not have slowdown.

And Majora's Mask had rare crashes on GC.

Well I guess this confirms that the VC Oot is inferior to the Cube version in terms of framerate and proberly graphical quality. I also doubt it is the original release with the red blood and the different fire temple music..

MM never locked up on me, but I find the slowdown hard to bear inside clock town and at great bay. Apparently the Cube MM is running without the expansion pak.. I hope its fixed to be at least as good as the N64 version on VC.

Hmm, I played through the VC OoT fire temple and I heard no kind of chanting, more like ghosts were oooo'ing and aaaa'ing.
Hopefully there will be red blood when I "think I killed" Ganondorf.

And I'm stuck on the water temple, go figure, of all the times I've passed that temple I still get stuck, darn you lousy memory.

Raise the water level once. Go to the bottom of the central tower with your Iron Boots. There will be a secret passage in the middle opened up by one of the platforms being lifted. Follow the path and get a key.

Don't you need to lower the water all the way just to get into the central tower thing, then raise it again inside?

I've got the long hookshot, 2 keys, and I'm looking for the boss key.
I know I have to go through some rooms that I haven't found yet, but I vividly remember them and that's why I know I have to find them.

Regarding "Star Fox" for VC... Nintendo seems to be having trouble with titles that used external hardware.

i.e. Mario Kart 64 not saving ghost data because of lack of Memory Cart 59. Kid Icarus needing new passwords since they relied on some external chip.

My concern is since Star Fox for SNES used the "Super FX" co-processor to create the 3D graphics is that going possibly prevent the title from being released on VC? I mean I'm sure you create a software version of "Super FX" today, but if Nintendo isn't even going to fix saving ghost data in MK64... What chance would we have of Nintendo patching SNES Star Fox to work around the lack of physical "Super FX" hardware?

It has me cringing, because I want to play SNES Star Fox again.

Well, it IS the difference between saving ghosts on your run and actually being able to play the game.

Uh... isn't it obvious? If Star Fox doesn't have the "Super FX" co-processor hardware (or a software written equivilant) then it can't generate the polygons to draw the graphics. You can't play the game, in otherwords. On the other had if you can't save ghost data in Mario Kart 64, you just don't have a ghost of your best time trial to run against. You can still play the game perfectly, otherwise.

They got the emulation working for Star Fox in Wario Ware, so it must not be that hard.

Wait doesn't DKC use the same Super-FX chip to create ACM graphics?

I really doubt that Warioware was actually emulating the Starfox ROM, much more likely it was coded from scratch for the game.

DKC didn't use the SuperFX chip, "ACM" just means that the graphics were pre-rendered on SGI hardware and saved as sprites, which the SNES is quite capable of displaying normally.

Emulating a game with a Super FX chip isn't that much harder from emulating a regular SNES game - the SNES does have 5 processors, after all.  A "lack of Super FX hardware" is no different from a lack of a SNES CPU or Mode 7 chip on the Wii.  SNES emulators for the PC have gotten games working that use Super FX, C4, DSP, and all kinds of other add-on chips.  I wouldn't worry about Nintendo not being able to emulate those games.

Looks like I just found my 5th game, no all I need to do is chack Best Buy to get my cheap Wii Points and I'm all set to start my VC collection.

So far my list consist of
1.) Kid Icarus
2.) Actraiser
3.) Mystical Ninja
4.) Super Ghould and Ghost*
5.) Mario Kart 64
---
In consideration list:
1.) Contra

* I remember this game being so f'n difficult, I don't think i ever made it that far into the game. It's not like I ownd it and could just keep trying over and over and over though. But soon I will, so then I can.

Hm... Emulators can run the unmodified game code? If so that does put me at ease. What I'm afraid is that Nintendo's stance that they want to release the original unmodified game code, for authenticity sake, would create a problem or prevent its release on VC.
